  • Will there be dedicated Servers to rent or how can you run your own?

    I am looking for an "alyways on" Server for matchmaking purposes. All players launching the game should connect to it to be "available" and others wo click on multiplayer can then find the other players and get an invite from the sever. If they accept, both players are put into a new game. Is this possible?

    I thought it would be possible to use a single room as kind of workaround but if the host leaves all get disconnected and have to re-connect?

  • Hi! I started to work on a new game today, it's called "Lunar Catch". Its inspired by the classical Pong (and the Multiplayer Demo) but has some new twists like different playable characters with unique abilities and talents. While you level up, your char becomes stronger and unlocks new useful skills.

    There is still much to du but I am looking for some people interested in alpha-/betatesting my new game. There are three planned game modes so far:

    • Singleplayer
    • Multiplayer: 1vs1
    • Multiplayer Co-op: 2vs2

  • Hi. I added an "Disable Fullscreen Mode" option to my new game but encountered an issue when using "Cancel Fullscreen". The game runs fine in window and when switching to fullscreen but when I go back to windowed mode the game is not in the node-webkit window and I have a big white border in the upper and left side.

    Is this a bug with node-webkit or does anyone know how to fix this?

  • Hi! I tried to use the Fade Behavior with a Checkbox (Button) Object but it seems to do nothing when I try to create a FadeIn/Out effect.

    Is this a known issue and is it possible to fix this or is there no way to fade Buttons?

  • And the Credits are not shown in Preview when the Credits page is not the first page shown as Preview. But it works fine after building it. Does loading a project file with AJAX not work in Preview mode if it's not the first page shown? Its a .txt file.

  • Hi! I added a few music files (4 to 9 Min) to my project and one is played on Start of Layout on the Title Screen and another one is shown on the Credits screen. But even if I use Preload on the first Layout showing my Logo the music does not play on the second screen. I tried it in Chrome and with Node-Webkit Preview. When I export the project to Node-webkit it works fine, but why does the preview not play the music? (using latest beta 171)

  • Hi. I believe I found this in an example a while ago but was not able to find it again and can't remember how to add a "newline" to the properties of a label object.

    I know how to add it via the "Set Text" action (with &newline) but can you use a newline-character when you set a static text in the properties panel somehow?

  • Hi. I wondered if anyone already created a menu/inventory selection system for pads in Construct 2 already.

    Instead of just moving the cursor I want the selection to "stick" to menu items when pressing up/down or left/right or select an item from a grid of items (inventory) but if you move the stick it should immediately select the next adjacent item in the grid and not move the mouse cursor. Is there an easy and fast way to do something like this?

  • Or is it somehow possible to show a notification on the app icon? Usually its a number to see how many new messages/events are available.

  • After using the version on my server for about 2 days it started to happen there, too. It happened on Safari and Chrome on my iPhone 5S and shows the same as the second picture (above). Sometimes it works after a few reloads but most times it shows the glitched screen. Does anyone else have such a problem or an idea what could be the cause for this? Why does it run fine on preview and for 1-2 days on a server and then break?

    I used the Clay.io and System Date/Time Plugins.

  • Hi. Did anyone of you recently publish a game or app on clay.io?

    I used their marketplace because they have a nice C2 plugin with IAP support and Achievements but my latest app seems to have some problems - but apparently only on clay.io.

    The app was approved yesterday but it still happens that it seems to be broken when viewed on my iPhone 5 (dont have android devices to test right now). When I open it on my server it looks exactly like in the preview and plays sound. But on clay.io its broken or when it's running the soundfiles don't play.

    This is how it should look like:

    But this is what appears on my iPhone 5S (BUT it runs fine in PC in Chrome!):

    I had this issue a few days ago before it was approved, then it worked for about one day and today it happened again. Because it runs fine in preview and on my server I assume it is an issue with clay.io. I already contacted them but they have much to do right now and it can take some time.

    Did anyone else have such an issue (recently) or have any idea what could cause it? And why does this only happen on my phone and not when viewed in Chrome on PC?

  • But what could I have done wrong? Its not very difficult or complicated to click export, select Amazon Appstore, enter the appkey and then upload everything via FTP.

    I tried it on PC, iPad3, iPhone 5S and an android tablet and it runs fine without any errors or text shown when I open the URL on my server.

    I used 2 Plugins (clay.io ).

    Its a simple app with some countdown timers (). Nothing "special" with effects, physics or animations. Any ideas?
