Hi! I created a countdown/timer app and added a sound notification if the timer expires. But this only works if the app is currently running.

Is there a way to notifiy users when the app/game is not running or not the currently active app on screen (it has to be launched but dont has to be the active app on screen)?

Or is it somehow possible to show a notification on the app icon? Usually its a number to see how many new messages/events are available.
