  • Yeah that's exactly it. Apparently after a save and then re-open of the file the system no longer picks up the old mouse & keyboard.

So... there's another bug for ya.

  • I'm going to guess that this goes back to the issue with the mouse & keyboard object not transferring over. I'm going to try making a new mouse & keyboard object and see if it works.

  • But I did set it to walking... in PlayerControls. Or am I missing something?

  • Can anyone explain to me why the animations for the player aren't... well playing?

    Cap File.

  • Try Construct 3

  • I think I should have probably named the thread name a little better but I really can't think of what to call this thread.

However, what I'm wondering is, is there any way to use spreadsheets and call to a specific cell to obtain information? If not could something like this be added?

  • Just thought I should mention I got third place in my state. Now I can redo this and bring it to nationals some time in June.

  • Err. >_>

    /me hides

At the time of making this I wasn't aware that it worked like that. So I defined the whole path in the line. Now that I know however I'm going to use it like that in the future.

  • Thank you my kind sir.

  • Haha oops. Uploaded the wrong one. In the one with no events it's supposed to be "Include Event Sheet: Layout 3".

If the layout of 3 is included in layout 2 shouldn't pressing W make the sprite move?

  • Why doesn't the mouse and keyboard input seem to carry over in instances like this?

  • deadeye: Thanks. And yes, I need to remake the sword so it's not so easy to kill everything. It would have been a bit easier if I could bump the enemies away from where I hit them so that I could give them health stats and such. And make the sword only stay out for a certain time or something.

Assuming I make it past states that is.

Doppel: Ooops. xD And thanks, I was going for something fun and slightly unique with the sword slashing.

  • Alright to start off, the TSA stands for Technology Student Association.

Basically there are an assload of competitions in different areas of tech that you can enter. The first level of competition is states the seconds is nationals. I joined up and made a small game (supposed to be 5-10 mins) for the video game competition. The game I made is crap and all and I'm sure that some of you could do much better than I did.

However, I wanted to share what I made. Oh and this entire thing was made in 1 night. The night before it was due. :p

    Here's the download link.

Make fun of it, comment it, criticize it, don't say anything, whatever.

The one known bug is that going back from the controls menu crashes the program. I really don't know why... It has something to do with how I resize the window. Oh and the sound WILL NOT work unless you put the folder into your program files. But it's just game music so it isn't imperative.

Oh and this program is made with scirra construct.

Holding the mousebutton keeps the sword out so you can swing it wildly around your head in an unrealistic fashion by the way.

  • After installing .94 I did roll back to .93 (actually I predicted this and installed them on separate drives) but upon going back to .93 any time I try to save crashes the program. And it was all going pretty well too...

  • Yeah, I'm just anxious. I've been working on this for a competition in the TSA and the deadline is tomorrow and now it's not working in the new version and the file is bugged so I can't save in the old one.

  • Can you send your .cap file that does this with steps to reproduce the problem to ? Thanks.

Find anything wrong with it yet?
