  • Hi I was just wondering if there is a way to place sound files in some sort of array, or have a function to play random sound files?

  • I'm looking at it, but not confident I can be much help. I tried messing with your image point and collision poly, but that does not seem to help.

You could go in and "toggle disable" events or actions one by one, perhaps then you could find the culprit.

  • There are probably many different methods available to go about it. I would perhaps also check out this video tute if your considering using scrolling images.

Please excuse the "dude with the tude"...(he's only 13)

  • What did you want to happen when you reach the ammo limit?

  • I have never tried these out but, check in with your Scirra example files. There should be an example titled "Blend modes". Peek into that and see if that is what your looking for. Actually, now I think you can access that Blend mode template when you click to add a new file in those example options. Hopefully that will help you out.

  • Any hope for a competition that does not involve facebook or twitter? It would be nice to see a competition that is fair game for everyone.

  • Hi Kyatric,

Thanks for the link to that thread, it did not come up on my forum search. I opened your capx. example. So I'm not really feeling as inept as I was before. Still inept, yet not so much. Why?, because when I downloaded and opened your file and right clicked on the first condition in your event sheet to see how you accessed the function option, your system menu opened with the functions option right there. However even though I have the latest version, that function option does not appear in my menu (which pretty much explains why I could not find it). I'm going to reinstall the latest version to see if it helps.

(edit) I just reinstalled the latest version. When I click "add event" in your capx., the new functions option is available. It is not available when I click "add event" in the capx I just opened on my end. Is there a plugin or something that needs to be installed separately?

    (edit) Found it!!!!!

Did not realize you had to add it as an object. Doohhh!

Still took dissecting your capx to figure it out....Thanks again

  • Hi White Claws!

Thanks for the speedy response. That feature for the variables does look awesome. Now I pretty much understand what it is and what it does. There is an image in the archive update showing the panel "Parameters for Function: Call Function" How do you access that panel?

  • Thanks for stepping up to the plate and helping out. You are awesome! I too have been interested in trying to do some sort of connect the dots game. I was worried White Claws would have to wait forever for a solution to his problem. I tried messing with his capx., but it was way too far over my head (or simply made more complicated than necessary which seems to have been the case). Glad you helped, and I cant wait to climb White Claws's stairway to heaven (or was it Starway?).

  • Gosh you guys,

I really feel like an idiot! Everyone is praising these new features. It sucks to have to be so honest about my ignorance, but I do not know what the heck your talking about. I just did some poking around and still have no idea what they are, where they are, and how to use them. Is there a tute or article, that I may have missed in the forum search?

  • Can you destroy and recreate the lines, rather than having them in the layout to begin with? Perhaps if you need to add a double click to release or something. Sorry, I'm still way too new. I'm also not really sure why you question has been ignored so long. Its been read by over 400 users.

  • Sure Wish I could help you, but this is a bit advanced for me. I'm not really sure what your after exactly. Do you want just one line showing at a time?

  • Hi All!

This is my first game I've shared here. I'm still a huge novice, but I wanted to create a birthday present for my son. He is an adult and is the primary digital artist for Iron Man's suit. In honer of his birthday I compiled a bunch of his art he drew as a youngling. He used to love groundbloom flowers and had a drawing of some. I used that pic for assets, and characters and robots from some of his other art I saved. The code got really messed up when I was trying to attach the match to his hand, so sometimes he will only light fireworks when facing a certain direction. I got too close to my deadline to get all that ironed out. Anyhow he really loved it and was deeply touched. I think not only that, it served as nice affirmation for him that you can teach an old dog new tricks. He said he was proud of me, I said I was glad I could return the favor.

I figured I'd share it along with the concept of games as greeting cards.

    EDIT:

For some reason the sound is not working in Firefox. It has a pretty kookie song and sound effects provided by nephews, so perhaps try it in chrome.

    Enjoy

  • I'm a bit of a noob, but I was wondering if you might be able to have it circumnavigate an invisible sprite. Here is a related forum topic that might help.
