  • Well, me thinks this is what you're after. Do note I modified pretty much all of the code and removed unneeded items. The doors do not prevent you from crossing them, if you have no key, as I figure you can add such a simple lot of code.

    Hope you enjoy - dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/108799982/Capx%20Demos/DoorsAndKeys.capx

Thank you so much emoaeden! I really don't know how to thank you for that. It really helped me and it's well done, very well done. It's a lesson learned! Thank you again!

  • Hello everyone!

I have a simple game where I have different doors, so only one kind of key should open those doors.

For start I have two kinds of keys, blues and reds. But I'm having trouble figuring out how I make the blue keys open only the blue doors and the red keys open only the red doors. Right now both keys are opening both doors.

Can anyone take a look? Here is my .capx file: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8017129/C2%20Forum%20Files/keys-and-doors.capx

  • Well I can do the job based on what you outlined in the the OP. You can PM me to negotiate further if you want or is still open.

    I'm surprised it's still open.

Just PMed you, man! Thanks for answering :)

  • Up. Job is still open.

  • Hey Did you receive my PM? Still want this job?

Waiting for your response, best regards!

  • I invested time in App store seo. Picking out the right keywords, etc.

Other than that I just let them fly. Every once in a while I change them to free to get a batch of downloads and some reviews. Sometimes sites will pick them up for "Free app Fridays" or something.

    tumira that's 200-500 a month.

Here is a link to one that is usually .99 but I am running for free until Saturday. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/word-search-for-kids-2-perfect/id693620862?ls=1&mt=8 You can see the other games if you scroll down and see "other games by this developer" Everything was done in C2.

The latest game (word search for kids 2) I spent 200 dollars on hiring an artist for the graphics, then rest was a bit of time reworking the original word search for kids.

What are you asking for the application process?

Hey ArcadEd, you can PM me the artist who did the graphics for you? It's really looking good. And your game it's pretty cool. It's sad that is not open-source. Hahahaha.

  • Not trying to ruin work for anyone, but here are some quick tutorials that might enlighten you to do it on your own.

What would be very useful for you is the Array object, here is how to fill an array with random values:

    https://www.scirra.com/tutorials/360/generating-a-random-tile-map

If you are using the node web-kit, you can save and load an array with a .json file.

Simply save an array to a text file to see the .json format, then you can use any text editor to add to it.

The Dictionary has some really useful commands as well , you may want to use a dictionary rather than an array.

If you would rather not do this yourself, I would be willing to do it for a $25 credit on Steam, bitcoin or Dwolla.

I've sent you a PM, joejoe!

  • Instead of make a big description of my game, I will put here the demo: http://j.mp/ninjasdemo-01

The game is called "Ninjas of Portuguese" and is a educational game that aims to be a tool for education, creating a different way to motivate students, as well assisting teachers to teach. But of course, without being annoying like most of the "educational games" that we are accustomed to see.

As you can see, the game is inspired on Fruit Ninja, but focused for students who are still learning the grammar of Portuguese. The difference when compared with Fruit Ninja, is that the students need to read a command to know what needs to be done to gain points. For example, one of the commands is that the student needs to cut only the verbs that are jumping on the screen, if the student cut a word that is not verb, he loses a life.

And is that exactly what I need a developer for. I need someone capable to create an array that can get the a list on a .txt with more than a thousand words (of my choice) and those words need to appear randomly on the game. This .txt needs to have the word and a area where I can specify if the word is a "verb" or not. I also want to be able to expand this, like using adjectives and etc.

  • That's cool. It probably took a lot of work to do all that questions! By the way, how you make the "bot" answers? It's random or pre-determined?

  • Hello, I'm just posting this to know if anyone ever worked with this framework. I never used, but seems very good and since it is for node.js(and some people already managed to use node. js with Construct 2) maybe someone could do something great with that.

Let me know if you already worked with it or if you are going to give it a try with C2. I can't try anything because I don't have the knowledge for that... yet

  • Links are also working here! Just downloaded! Thanks for this greeeaaat work!

  • Hey zatyka, I'm having the same issue you had. You can share your .capx or post an screenshot of it? I'm trying to create the same solution with Functions but until now I couldn't ;(

Notice I've changed the plugin to do away with csv's and instead implement a loop through events, checking their names and accessing data with a CurDataAtVar("var") expression.

    Hey aceofpack,

I really liked what you did on this video. Do you think it's possible to share this .capx file with the multiplayer or make a tutorial? I'm developing an game fruit-ninja style and I really wanna make a multiplayer mode. But I'm a little new at this area, that's why would be good to take a look on some .capx file or tutorial.
