Casino? money? who knows? but the target is the same!
  • As I was scanning the forum, it struck me; with the original Construct and C2 so closely named, sometimes it's confusing to know which is being discussed.

Does anyone else favor C2 being given a new name? "Construct 2" works, sure. But putting forum confusion aside, the name makes it feel more like an update rather than an unique thing built from the ground up. I thought something like "Kanvas" would be cool as C2 utilizes the HTML5 Canvas element. Maybe KanvasPro for the paid version and KanvasLite for the free?

    Just putting it out there.

  • I see no reason to change the name. All that would do is create 'further' confusion to new users.

Hi, I agree with you. My suggestion is Game Constructor.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads

Lame suggestion. Why not calling it Game Maker HTML5 while you're at it ?

Plus it restricts to game making, whereas CC and C2 can make applications.

    Please marketboy, stop it already.

It is not a name change that is required, just a little more attention from the user (To check if he is in CC's forum section or C2's section).

Moreover, a little tweak of the css display (using different colors, close, but noticeably different) could help avoiding the "confusion".

Anyway, it is too late to change the name (your parents didn't switch your name 9 months after you were born, right ?)

  • Why not call it the Deuce? ..... oh wait

Seriously though CC, and C2 works, although some distinction for the old forum posts might be a good idea.

Like if those threads used the green theme instead of the blue.

  • The old Construct is now called 'Construct Classic', which helps differentiate it. So it's 'Construct Classic' and 'Construct 2'.

The idea of renaming Construct 2 now is totally impractical anyway - we're way too invested in the current name to even consider changing it.

The CSS thing may work, but I'm more specifically referring to areas like "Your Creations" where things aren't as clear. I didn't realize the name had been around for 9 months. And it does work. I just think it could be better. It seems I'm in the minority.

That's true, C2 and CC subforums could have their own "Your Creations" or if not to separate them, in "Your Creations" each post could have it's icon according to program used.
