  • Issue resolved. I think it's just on my end. False alarm.

  • When I click play on a sound sample in the store, nothing happens. I've tried refreshing, restarting, etc. using Chrome (v - 20.0.1132.57) on a Mac. Sound from other sites is fine. Is anyone else experiencing this?

  • Would you guys want things in a PSD so you could make tweaks if desired?

  • Great feedback. Here are some of the common things I'm hearing:

     Scenery Elements

    -- Buildings

-- Nature (sun, moon, stars, clouds, trees, dirt, grass, etc.)

    -- Random Objects

     Pixel Art

    -- Isometric

    -- Clean / Simple

Is there anything else you guys would want to see?

  • I'm creating a Graphics Asset Pack (sprites, tiles, textures, etc.) but would like your feedback. Because art direction is different from game to game, what would be most useful to you? What kinds of things do you want? What would make your life easier?

I was also thinking about sharing some insight I've gained over the years (ie.optimizing graphics, designing engaging user experiences, the psychology of the users, etc.). Is that something you'd be interested in? If yes, I'm happy to share. If not, no need to waste your time. :)

  • I originally posted this here but I think this might be a more appropriate thread.

According to this article I read that:

"Native Client (NaCl for short) is a Chrome specific technology that allows developers to code in C/C++ and produce a .nexe file, a compiled native module. ... Being able to port C/C++ code makes it an interesting option for game developers working in that area already."

I'm not a developer and don't understand how all this works, but any reason not to make C2 available in the chrome store? Is this even possible? I can think of a lot of reasons to do it (ie. cross platform compatibility) but maybe I'm missing something.

Before we go crazy, let's see if we're a good fit. Don't worry about all the functionality, just represent the basics (flying, shooting, a planet, a bad guy, stars). When I review what you've done, I'll ignore the graphics and focus only on functionality so don't worry about the visual half. If you produce quality work, let's do it!

On a basic level, you fly around and shoot stuff. You can also disable other ships, board them, and take their loot. You can land on planets, trade things, accept missions, upgrade your ship, conquer planet systems, hyper-jump between systems (as their discovered), and much more without having any story attached.

Once you attach a story, you'll be able to do all of the above with a purpose (join the rebellion, federation, pirates, another government, a secret society, etc.). With every story you complete successfully, you will walk away with awesome new game functionality, perks, and other rewards. Ultimately, you'll want to go from zero to hero and dominate the universe .... if you survive.

  • Looking For: Someone(s) to help bring the vision to life. I work on a Mac and, as you know, C2 is not available for Mac. I can design the game / graphics but need a very capable dev.

Inspiration: Escape Velocity, Tron, Indiana Jones , and other fond childhood memories.

Synopsis: As you wade through a bland digital universe earning what you can to survive, an unlikely discovery throws you into a world dripping with corruption, rebellion, and secret societies warring for your alliance. What happens is up to you.

    Idea:

? Can be played either as a choose-your-own-adventure or MMO.

? Simple graphics with captivating stories and gameplay. Can be played without any stories.

? Can earn credits / upgrade character a variety of ways.

    Anyone interested?

  • I realize you guys have a million things on your plate and that a Mac version may not be a priority, but are there any plans to eventually provide something for Mac users?

  • perhaps you could let the Wine developers know it doesn't work? It's up to them to fix it, and if they like Construct 2 they might prioritise it.

You will have to excuse my ignorance. Where would I do that?

  • It is not a name change that is required, just a little more attention from the user (To check if he is in CC's forum section or C2's section).

Moreover, a little tweak of the css display (using different colors, close, but noticeably different) could help avoiding the "confusion".

Anyway, it is too late to change the name (your parents didn't switch your name 9 months after you were born, right ?)

The CSS thing may work, but I'm more specifically referring to areas like "Your Creations" where things aren't as clear. I didn't realize the name had been around for 9 months. And it does work. I just think it could be better. It seems I'm in the minority.
