The Official Introduce Yourself Thread

  • Hello, I am excited about the HTML5, particularly as I no longer like Flash much. I chanced upon this web site when looking for HTML game tutorials and here I am !

BTW: will you offer educational discounts, say for a games lesson group of 20 ?

    Thank you.

  • Hi Luxgud,

For educational purposes we are open to the possibility of discounts. It's best if you contact us about this though and we can work out the details!

If you go to our contact page and drop me an email that would be best.

    Thanks for the interest!

  • Hi gang!

I'm a Game designer and budding journalist that posses a deep passion for the medium of games and gaming. I can design well enough but I am a complete idiot when it comes to programming and have found the Construct programs to be an enormously helpful tool as it eliminates many of the more irritating aspects of working on my own altogether.

It was Inkbot who convinced me to try it out so I owe him my thanks and a Sandwich.

    Cheers! <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Hi!i'm really new to this game making...and tried this program, construct 2!it was very easy and helpful..but can anyone help me how to make platform games?!thanks... <img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • My name is Brock, and I'm a Sound + Software student from Australia. In my final semester, I've been given the project to prototype several games and test them (the user testing is the crucial part). I wanted to do html5 games (even though the sound support is still kind of dodgy), because of the speed of running them on a client machine, especially for test purposes.

I'd searched for about a week until I settled on Construct2, as I'd wanted to code a lot of it by hand. But this works because it's easier for my artist teammates to be able to use, and by God is it quick to build games from scratch? It's incredible.

So hopefully you guys should be able to see my prototypes soon, as I hope to get as many opinions on it as possible.

  • I am urled, i make game. Have use MMF & TGF in the past, but construct is much better. I like applications that are flexible and not hard coded.

i love the for and for each loop in construct.

That is a huge reason why I switched.

I also like the smoot resizing and features such as angle towards object and those!

  • New to HTML5. Got prior experience in building simple games using SilverLight.

  • Hi folks,

I had my first contact to video games with atari coleco vision(in 1986 i guess).I`m into Grfx&Dsgn, 3D , Webdesign and building terrain for fantasy miniatures.I`m a toys-comics-games addict.

    I`ve got 2 Questions :

    • Is there a way to work with/import ".svg"- graphics within construction2 ? Couldn`t find it yet..

I think(i know)) it`s possible to change the graphics within the final html-code, but it would safe a lot of time to work with svg from the beginning .

    • Where to get the additional content, which is mentioned for the standard version (e.g. more sounds & 2nd sprite pack)?

I first downloaded the free version, then paid for the standard edition the next day, got my key by email immediately,

added it to constrution2, restarted the prog....

Hope you can give me a hint,

    so far// have a nice weekend <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads

The link is in the confirmation email when a license is purchased, at least it was for me :)

Welcome to the board, BTW :)

  • Hey everyone,

My name is Brendan. I'm pretty much completely new to game developing. I'm currently trying to create, yep you guessed it, another generic zombie survival TDS, as my first project. The troubles I'm running into right now are: finding halfway decent sprites to use for the player and zombies and understanding the usage of sprites(i.e. credits and copyrights). Besides that most of the stuff in the program is relatively easy to comprehend(so far) haha.

    Thanks,

    Brendan <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • I'm originally started learning to code HTML5 by hand. I saw Contruct several months ago and just happened to check back and saw that I missed a lot in the past few months. Not much to say at this time except Hi I'm James and I enjoy making games and look forward to contributing to this community one day.

From what I've seen, I really like this place. I've lurked for about a week and decided to decloak.

It's very exciting to see the Construct2 being developed so quickly. I love checking in and seeing what new things are being created by the members and certainly the regular updates to the program itself.

  • Hi !

I'm a french gamemaking lover, and I want to learn how to make some little games in HTML5.

Construct seems to be a realy great tool for that, and I hope more features come soon ! :D

    Thank you for work !

PS : Sorry for my English, you know, French school is not the good way to learn other language ;)

  • Hey just thoguht I would introduce myself.

Names Drew. I'm an American Exchange student currently in Sweden and while here I had some inspiration to follow the game design I have been playing with for a couple years now.

I was brought to Construct from youcanmakevideogames.com (which is a great site!). I was brought there by a forum and was brought to the forum by the Minecraft community page. I had already been playing with Unity, but found Construct. I have played with it for a couple days now and I have fallen in love with the Event system!

This idea of mine is really great (but for now stays with me). When it finally comes out publicly I am hoping that it is everything that I want it to be and that people will get as much enjoyment out of it as I hope they will!

  • Lots of new users :) Welcome to the site all of you! If you have any questions please do just ask!
