I have an idea for a game, but I'm not sure if this is the right program for my ideas. I basically want a 2d side-scroller with simplified Dark Souls style gameplay in a Metroidvania style world. I also want it to have optional multiplayer via LAN or online. Is this software suitable for such a goal? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Construct 2 is a wonderful software! It will allow pretty much anything to be created in it, assuming you have the know how!

It's perfect for making proof of concept prototypes and with enough time you can easily polish your prototypes into full games.
