  • I'm trying to make a top-down space shooter and I need to make a capital ship with multiple rotating guns. In theory, I will have an invisible sprite with markers to which all the other sprites will be pinned. I also want the player to be able to customize what type of gun is located at each point. I know how to accomplish this, but I need to know if there are any tutorials on a simpler and more efficiient way. (I only have the free version of Construct 2.)

  • I want to make an Android app that emulates the Assassin's Creed Brotherhood style of multiplayer. In theory, the game will use location data to help players track and evade each other via a hot/cold indicator. Are there any tutorials on how to do something like this?

  • I want the player to move with the station as it rotates, so that if he stands still, he will stay at the same spot on the floor while the floor moves, so everything in the station isn't moving around him.

  • I have a space station that consist of an interior on the bottom layer, and an exterior on the top layer. The station rotates in orbit, and I want my players and npc's on the interior to rotate with it and still be able to walk around normally like on a real spacestation.

  • I'm working on a game that is primarily going to be a single-player space trading and exploration sim. I want to eventually add multiplayer features, and, seeing how complicated it looks, I'm wondering if I can just add it later, or if I need to implement it from the start of the project.

My basic concept is that each player has their own randomly generated galaxy with about 8-10 explorable star systems, their own space station to manage and upgrade, their own fleet of ships to pilot or captain, and a dynamic and persistent supply/demand economy.

As for the multiplayer part, I want each player to have an option to enable/disable online mode. While online mode is enabled, I want the game to constantly be searching for other "galaxies". If a another galaxy is found, the player can travel there to meet another player or raid his convoys. Also, as long as online mode is enabled, the player's own galaxy will be open to unannounced visits from other players who may or may not be friendly. When visiting another galaxy, the player may exchange friend codes, which will save their galaxy to a favorites list and allow future visits and communication. If possible, I would like to include an option to connect an email address to the game, so messages can be sent and received the next time the player visits their space station while online. I also want LAN capabilities, so players on a local network can play together without an internet connection.

  • I used the "set position to object image point", but there's a problem. The ship part connects at its origin point. Do I need to move the origin point, or can I make it attach at another point. I'll just move the origin point for now.

... I got the parts to attach to the right points, but now they don't move properly. When the main body of the ship turns, the other parts maintain their original orientation, rather than turning with the body.

  • I need to make a space ship composed of multiple parts that work together. Is it possible to make several sprites that are attached and work together, rather than having the entire ship represented by a single sprite. I also need each part of the ship to have it's own health. I eventually want to make it so that multiple players can cooperate by controlling different parts of the ship.

  • I would like to organize a team to make a 2d game with combat, rpg, and multiplayer elements similar to Dark Souls, and exploration and upgrade elements similar to Metroid. I'm on a budget of $0, and my only relevant skills are things like level design and balancing. I need custom artwork, music, and possibly coding/scripting for more complex features. I'll share more details if anyone shows interest. Thanks.

P.S. I have no intention of actually calling the game Dark Souls or anything like it. It merely draws inspiration from the Souls series, as well as many other games.

  • I have an idea for a game, but I'm not sure if this is the right program for my ideas. I basically want a 2d side-scroller with simplified Dark Souls style gameplay in a Metroidvania style world. I also want it to have optional multiplayer via LAN or online. Is this software suitable for such a goal? Thanks in advance for any advice.
