Casino? money? who knows? but the target is the same!
  • Yeah, this is way better than .62, and as stable as well!

  • Try Construct 3

  • 0.62 is very old build compared to this one. However I wouldn't say this is stable because it crashes almost everytime I use it and that's why I have to (auto)save my game almost every second minute :/

I can't really say what causes the crash because it happens very randomly. I think there should be some kind of automatic log feature for crashes or something?

  • Hi, I've found a bug I didn't encounter in previous versions, but I'm using a very old computer now so it might be related to it.

    To recreate:

    1. I make a construct DX game

    2. Create a sprite, just a square form

    3. Add any effect, and whatever effect I add (additive, etc...) it crashes if I try to run layout

'Construct encountered an error in the display engine. Please report to the application developer.

Failed to create render target texture (0x8876017c)'

It only happens when I add an effect.

I just followed exactly what you described and it didn't crash for me. My PC is quite new and custom built, so that may be the reason it worked.

Do you have Direct X 9.0c installed?

  • Yeah, I have directX latest version installed. It's also a fresh windows install.

    It's an old P4 2.8 ghz, 1,5 gb ram and an Intel(R) 82865G graphics card (96mb).

Unless someone else reports the same problem, I really think it's just some problem with my computer and a very particular case, so nothing to worry about. I can work perfectly and use another computer if I want to try effects.

I just wanted to report just in case.

  • Old computers are evil, it's best to stay away from them.

  • Wow aspal, i never seen wiser answer about old PC's in my life.

: Go ahead and put it as stable version. Old PC's have problems wih rendering DX graphics.

  • Most likely its the Intel graphics card.

  • I think I should make this a new stable build to replace 0.99.62, even if 0.99.91 isn't perfect, it's probably still way ahead.

    General agreement?

Yes this build is working with all my projects tested so far, and has new features that 0.99.62 did have.

    Go for it.

  • Good build, best one yet. Though, I still feel like families are a bit glitchy sometimes.

In a project i'm working on, i had a few shared private variables across a couple objects via a family. I later stopped using some of the variables, but if i try deleting them using the "add/remove private variables" link in the properties window, my game screws up. Everything works fine if i delete them using the "manage families" button in the top toolbar.

  • I just hope you don't forget the memory leak in the event wizard still exists!

  • I just hope you don't forget the memory leak in the event wizard still exists!

yeah, I finally get what all the fuss is about

now that I have a large cap

I'm not exaggerating here, I save every 1 to 3 actions I add or change.

it crashes often enough that I don't feel like I'm wasting time doing so

someone suggested the option of disabling the icons for larger caps as a workaround if necessary for 1.0, which if that really is the source of the leak, is far better than nothing. even being able to disable graphics for the layout view would be good as well, since you have to switch to that view to change behaviors and effects, and sometimes it crashes when changing between layout and event views

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one having that memory problem.

  • For me that's actually the only problem. If it would be fixed I wouldn't mind calling it then Construct V 1.0

    Regards,

    Mr. Snooley
