Are NSFW games permitted to be created using Construct 3?

  • Hello everyone!

    I’m a newbie dev and after trialing some over engines I found construct 3 the best to use so far, but I’m a little worried about creating my project idea using the software.

    The game idea would include some NSFW content (references to “acts” not shown & nudity) and because of construct’s browser only development, I’m concerned it would break the TOS. All content would follow applicable laws and no overly objectionable content besides what I’ve already said would be included.

    Is anyone able to advise me on if this would be acceptable? I understand I wouldn’t be able to upload to the arcade on here but would other platforms be okay?

    If construct 3 added an 18+ section that would be bonkers.

    A lot of 18- people program on this website,I presume(including me).

    It would be a big let down.

    And anyways why would someone want to see NSFW?

  • Anyone can make anything in C3, its nothing to do with Scirra. Go wild and make your NSFW games if you wish.

    Even if a controversial game is made with C3, Scirra wouldn't be responsible at all, any game dev software could have been used.

    Don't expect any retweets from Scirra or anything though!

    Yeah, OP established that they know they cannot upload NSFW games to Scirra arcade. Other platforms, yeah, Steam allows it. Check with the platform.

    Plus don't you need a NSFW permission for your website?.

  • In my opinion, you should be able to create any kind of games with Construct 3. It's where you launch the game, that matters.

  • Clickteam products used to have rules about that so maybe that’s why you’re asking.

    You can look that up pretty easy.

    For Construct you can read the end-user license agreement from the about dialog in the editor. It restricts piracy, reverse engineering and selling games made in the free version. There is nothing listed that restricts the content of the games you make.

    On this site (arcade, forum, tutorials,..etc) the community guidelines don’t allow NSFW content. So probably don’t post about it here since content should be family friendly.
