    2D flowchart systems like that are pretty much completely different to events.

    It's like they are punishing you for not using code.

    Then response for that is that even in coding you would make flowcharts.

    Yeah, I make flowcharts for mouse inputs all the time.

    In my opinion it's quite obvious that it will be 3D was not only is it called construct 3 (it would be misleading otherwise) but because there isn't enough for them to improve so that they can make an entirely new engine. Furthermore there aren't any 3D drag and drop engines as they all use C which is hard to learn, this means that a 3D drag and drop engine would be very popular as many people want to recreate the games they play (which are almost all 3D)in there own style.

    Bottom line- the name would be misleading and the engine would open up a whole new audience.

    I know, but just wanted to share this to inform you about developments in the (even if it's not direct) competition.

    Regardless of whether C3 will be 3D or not, does anybody know of any other engines that allow 3D development with a Construct style of events/actions?, e.g. not Unity or Game Maker.

    If node-based visual programming suits you, then go for Unreal Engine 4. If it's only the event/action system you are comfortable with, you might want to check out CopperCube or wait for Spark Engine (still in development).

    2D flowchart systems like that are pretty much completely different to events.

    They're pretty similar in my opinion after working with both smart contracts and node-red. (only a minor amount at the moment.)

    I'd love to see flow support in C3, although it's not a priority.

    With a proper flow translation you can easily convert flows into the tree structure events and normal coding uses.

    I don't want to quote my most recent comments but well...

    Anyway to give you an appropriate answer:

    There is not that much information up now, especially in this topic Ashley just confirmed that

    it is not a dead project and that he actively works on it. *

    If you are really desperate for information you can always follow the Blogs and their Bluebird accounts ([AT]AshleyGullen ; [AT]Scirra)

    If Ashley has something big that needs to be announced, you can be sure that he will do it somewhere on those socials.

    We are basically working full-time on C3 and it's been our focus for over a year now. It is certainly not going to be cancelled or anything like that. We are just not ready to share any information yet for a few reasons:

    - C2 is still a great product and actively maintained, and we think it's best for users to keep focusing on C2 instead of sitting around waiting for C3 (especially since we still don't know when it will be ready)

    - we don't want to say something and then end up delaying, modifying or ultimately removing any particular feature we talked about - right now everything is still subject to change

    - public information about the state of C3 could affect our competitive edge, especially since we're doing some pretty interesting stuff

    - we don't want to ruin the surprise!

    Rest assured we are working daily to get C3 ready as soon as possible, and we will share more information when we're ready.

    As a Construct 3 big competitor, I shall designate Spark Engine: http://spark.tools/

    It's in dev, they will release an alpha/beta this summer (probably, not sure) and they have a Skype group where they keep fans up to date about the features they added.

    I'll try both. If Construct 3 is as good or better than Spark, there is no way I could leave it.

    Well Ashley, if you read this, please note that a skeletal animator as well as a real time team work would make me fall in love with you.

    Actually, having the editor open source and letting plugins and addons add editors, windows or even change some functions should do the trick. And that would be amazing.

    Wow, I just checked out CopperCube and I have to say that it is amazing in terms of use!

    It's so easy to create behaviors and kinda feels like Construct Classic with more emphasis on 3D game development.

    Does it have some hidden flaws or why is it so unpopular compared to the other 3D game engines on the market?

    At least it's the first time, that I hear about this game engine.
