  • Wow looks awesome, can't wait to play it.

  • Glad you liked it, I am aware of the issues you raised. Fixed all issues you raised apart from simulating a human like movement, collision detection also causes some problems.

    many thanks :)

  • game I made to see if i could create an unbeatable pong AI. It has some flaws and opponent can be defeated due to the speed the racket moves however it is generally quite solid.

  • Try out my new game at https://knivetonstudios.itch.io/blocks for free in browser.

It's a psychedelic experience about moving up and down to avoid moving blocks to the rhythm of the game's music .

  • Check out Punch Assassin on itch.io playable in browser! This is a VERY old game(one of my first) which i recently decided to finish and publish to https://knivetonstudios.itch.io/punch-assassin . I am aware that it is a rip off of Hotline Miami, I'm not sure what i was thinking , but none the less it is still a semi-decent game.

  • smashaza Thanks, sorry for the slow reply but I don't think i have the sprites on my computer any more

  • Rayek Thank you, I wasn't aware of Krita, but it seems like it would work great with my Canon 220 scanner.

I usually work in pixel art but have recently been working in a style similar to that of the French artist Hergé, famous for the Tintin comic book series. Krista seems to be more than capable for the simple line and block colour artwork I produce, however I was slightly confused about saving as a .kra and whether that would be compatible with most game engines.

    Many thanks

  • Anonnymitet when you say you used it as a guideline do you mean to trace or to reference?

    Thanks

  • I feel that most people would probably agree that it is easier to draw with pencil/pen and paper than with a mouse, which led me to wonder if it would be possible (and effective) to draw line work on paper, then scan and import onto a computer for colouring.

Has anybody tried this or have any thoughts on how well this could work?

  • Noisefever I completely understand, but I think the diamonds could add a lot replayablitity and a whole new dimension to your levels.

  • fredriksthlm Adventure games can definitely be done in Construct, but point and click engines have specific tools that would save a lot of time, which is needed for making artwork and writing text etc.

  • lamar Thanks, I'm not a particularly good programmer even in Construct 2 , let alone making an addon. I'll probably use a different engine, which will going be a pain in the arse but at least I'll be able to get it finished how I planned.

  • I have been wanting to start making a point and click game for quite some time now and was wondering whether it would be better to stick with Construct 2 or move to a specific adventure game engine like Adventure Game Studio or Visionare Studio as they might be easier to use. However, I don't want to learn a new engine as I like the flexibility of Construct. Opinions

    Thanks

  • Fun game! I thought it had some really nice music and great artwork, I especially liked the backgrounds. The level design and controls were also good, however the difficulty could change very quickly: for example level 13 and 14. I played until level 21 and it was mostly enjoyable, although it did become frustrating at times (I suppose that's the whole point though ). Also, I didn't understand the use of the stars as they seemed to serve no real purpose, perhaps you coulld use them to unlock a new page of levels? I also thought that some kind of story or premise could have added to the character of the game, but that's just my opinion.

Overall, a really fun platformer with a nice aesthetic and lots of polish - 4/5
