  • Thanks mineet :) It is hard, animation is something special. It took me a lot of work and research to get this far though the arms could be smoother when they go in the other direction. But this was something I already saw, and I'm still adjusting. I just wanted to show the cycle because I'm very happy with it :)

Also in the game, the character will move and then the animation looks better. And, things can always be better, which is good because that means there is room for progress. But, sometimes you just need to move on. I'm a perfectionist, but I also want to finish my game.

    Kill your darlings.

I also struggled with animation, and I thought that mine were good, but players can be merciless :). Finally, we had to pay someone to do it right. Well, nobody can be good at everything.

You also are right, that you can't have everything. Some glitches won't be some important, if overall experience will be great, I think. Your game looks promising, art is very nice, and main character looks great. Plus I love horror themes - I'll be tracking your progress definatelly.

hi was looking through my bookmarks' and just thought I'd see how the progress was going..

  • To be honest for the last couple of days I haven't really been productive. I was a bit sick and I was busy with other stuff, social things.

But, I'm working at the jumping animation at the moment and that's almost finished.

Also my focus lies at the story now, takes a lot of thinking and procrastination. I know what I want to tell the player, but now I'm figuring out how I want to tell it. In what order, what kind of events etc. It's interesting, but difficult, I'm pressuring myself too much maybe.

Anyway, a lot goes on in my head. I just need to let it out and this weekend I have more time.

Thank you for your interest mineet :)

    Jumping and landing.

  • For me, one of the most interesting projects on scirra so far. ;)

  • Egon; got to agree with you there... I love coming to this thread ..

robin Sommer; looks good the jump and land

  • Very nice art, but the hand is weird.

  • robin Sommer,

Really like the atmospheric look of your project (very spooky)! I'm looking forward to future developments and a playable demo!

    Nice work!

  • Thanks Egon and mineet, that means a lot to me. Egon your game looks interesting too :)

breackzin; Thank you and the hand, I know, fixed that already. ;)

Blacksmith; It will take some time before I will release a demo, if I release one. That's the future, I don't look into that direction often. But you never know. ;)

Today I worked on a new version of the mansion exterior. This mansion is bigger than the old one. This version is not ready yet, I'm working on de details and ornaments now. It may seem all neat and tidy on this image but I will age it later.

  • robin Sommer, I really hope you do, release a demo. You've clearly taken a lot of time and effort to get everything looking so good. It would be a real shame not to share your creation with the rest of the world.

Anyway good luck, I'll keep an eye on your progress :)

hi; liking the mansion; I did notice the other one ... which I like better at the moment; think because there is more character/ age...I'm looking forward to see what you do with this one.. I think that's what I like so much about your work; there's a lived in/ aged feel; lots of character..Is it all your artwork; I find your talent amazing..that you are able to create anything.. ..
