  • Hi,

Use the anchor behavior and make sure to post in the correct forums.

  • hi,

i mean in design time, i want to align some sprites left, right..

    like Delphi alignement palette.

    thnk

  • I still don't see what you mean exactly.

If you want to align sprite in the editor, put the same X coordinate to them, or the same Y coordinate.

Your question isn't complete enough to make sense. (Or at least it doesn't make sense to me since I did not use Delphi alignement palette).

Anyway, check the manual about the interface of the editor, perhaps you'll find something that suits your needs.

Or reformulate your question with more details.

  • I think he (@Manarsoft) is talking about something similar (but applied to ojbect) to the spritesorigin quick assigment option: top left, top, top right, left, middle, right, bottom left, bottom, bottom right), and a fast way of doing the same thing with object inside the editor and layout view.

As far as I know, there is not such option, but, as Kyatric says, you can always set the desired x,y to the object and position it where you want. Its quite fast, and very exact :).

I dont know what it A delphi alignement palette %).

  • "Snap to grid" in the "Layout" tab of the ribbon ?

I'm sorry guys, I'm still not getting what the issue is about.

  • I think he wants alignment capability like this link shows below:

  • Yeah, what I understand he is asking is something like the alignment tools found in most Adobe products and vector editors in general, to align objects in the layout editor without needing to set each position manually.

More info on how it works here.

I always missed this feature as well, since it's a great time saver and a must for big projects that require lots of objects to be aligned.

This along with object grouping (and proper group manipulation), and the missing z-order manipulators (send 'forward one' and 'back one') are the most important features missing in the layout editor right now.

  • Hello,

both of (sirLobito, Animmaniac, aindovin) are right,

this is what i want exactly.

  • Hey guys, just checking on the status of these tools. I'm in the process of constructing a large project involving multiple objects with precision positioning required and the lack of these tools makes it a living hell.

If we can please have the alignment tools as well as the 1 step z layer modifiers   AND the proper grouping of objects and scaling of objects that would be great.

Please advise if progress is being made on these features as for me personally it will be a deal breaker between using this software for commercial jobs or just for a bit of cheap fun.

I think there is real room to turn this into a professional developer software with the addition of basic functions as listed, however without them, it's too ineffective to be considered for any serious work.

  • Bump~ If this tool set is being developed for the next release I would love to hear more about this

  • Ashley hasn't answered here, it is likely that it did not see this topic.

Anyway, in yesterday's r112 changelog he mentions that with the end of the year the release cycle will slow down a bit.

He's also busy with the follow up to Steam greenlight at the moment.

Anyway, for "precision positioning", nothing beats being able to set the X/Y positions manually in the properties bar.
