How do I make car behavior move using pathfinder

I know how to move an object using a created set path, but its "pathfinder" moving the object. I want to to be able to click anywhere on the screen and set a path and have my object drift and slide to that position using the car behavior. Is there a way to set a path but have the car behavior drive along?

I did not try paths for car movement, but i find this tutorial very nice on how to let cars drive around a track:

It's a tricky one, but this link you've provided has given me loads of ideas so thanks for that! I'll keep playing around with these new ideas until I get something. Thanks for your help.
