• Holy moly. I have been gone from the forums for quite a while.

I have made an windows 8 store app on a windows 7 laptop. AM I still able to enter or do I have to have developed on a windows 8 OS?

Making an account to publish my entry is also another hurdle that seems confusing.

• Nomad

you need windows 8 to develop for windows 8. You can export to windows 8 from construct, but to finish it in visual studio you need windows 8.

Aw :( Well I guess I can put it on the Scirra Arcade. Shame I could not have a chance to get a personal key.

Good luck to the rest of you.

• Sorry for late raply.i cant see your message before.I've solved problem and i've submited 14 june and i passed content compliance same day. Yes,i dont use estimation numbers.I hope it will release before 21 june

• Wait a sec, why would I need Visual Studio

• hello everyone.........i am new to this forum

• I submitted my game/app "Ski Mayhem" to the windows 8 app store on 14 June.

Today I just got a email from Windows 8 saying that my app failed at the Content Compliance part.

It said that the app either fails to launch or crashes after launch.

But I followed all the steps for packing and uploading to Windows 8.

Testing and certification all worked perfectly when I was testing the app with Visual Studio 2012 Express on my laptop running on Windows 8.

Has anyone else encountered similar problem ?

And is there a way to find out why my app fails to launch or crash according to Windows 8 testers, but when it runs perfectly fine when I did everything I can on my side ?

Ski Mayhem has even been successfully published on Google Play Store, sigh...

guero, sadly I am not able to find out as it seems to work perfectly when testing on Visual Studio Express 2012.

I followed all the steps provided in the tutorial to publish in Windows 8.

Hope that Ashley can help out, but I think it would be too late by now as it would need 5-7 days for the app to be approved...

• Hydar yes i did it too.and i sent mail to Microsoft support and i want help to quick approve. They dont turn me back yet but you can try.

• Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
• Hydar

Did they leave any notes for you?

Was there anything else in the email?

Go to your dashboard, is there anything there? Usually you can view the certificate report to why it failed.

• Failed certifications for me too -> Age Rating and rating certificates are not in the package.

Oh realy ? Fix first GDFMaker, then I could post certificates... And of course, there is no solution from microsoft for this problem, I paid 50$ for this and there is no support. Great.

-> "GDFMaker - index (zero based) must be greater than or equal to zero and less than the size of the argument list"

And no, downloading en-US pack change nothing.

Certifications process started on june 14, but i'm f**kedup ...

• Joskin, did you follow the directions for GDFMaker on this page? It worked great for me.

msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/hh465153.aspx

• Yep, I did, but i'm getting an error right after creating a project, and there is no fix for this one. That's why I ragin, I'm using a non-free service and it's broken :/

I'm sad because I worked hard for submitting the 14, and for a lack of support my chance to run the competition are very low.

It's a new computer with just, the applications needed for compiling an app for windows store. What the hell am I missing ?
