  • I want to ask is what is the min time to build a good game on C2? I guess 2 week maybe?

    Hope we discuss it!

  • For someone who wrote an article on how to write a successful game.. You should have some idea

But seriously this is too open ended a question. It's even to hard to define what is 'good' as opinions differ. Was flappy birds good? Then I could create one in 5 min using the C2 template

  • Unclear question, cannot anwser with one response.

However depending on you mastering of the program, and alsohow well you defined your game beforehand, the time to build it can be shortened a lot yet with it being polished and clean code-wise

  • From 5 seconds to 50 years.

  • Negative infinity.

When I saw this topic, I was thinking to answer it with flappybird aswell

Flappy bird is in my humble opinion a bad game. However, it is very succesfull. Which I still don't understant why

Anyway, I would say with C2 it is possible to make a succesfull game within a couple of hours perhaps minutes with flappy bird template.

  • The smallest, still monetizable game I ever made with C2 took about a long day's work (12 - 14hrs), half of which was used for graphics. I used only a few sounds and did not make them myself, they came from a free repository.

  • My fastest game was Triangle wave, in 2 days, maybe 10-14 hours i can't remember:

    Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... leWave.byr

    Web: https://googledrive.com/host/0B1UN8sc3L ... index.html

Simple game with leaderboards ,achievements and some social media. I spend more than 3 hours trying several menu designs because i wanted to keep it simple.

  • Pong in about 4 hours. (And I think, Pong is a good game!)

  • The Blue Code game took me 1 month to code. It's 95% of a full Point and Click adventure engine. The quality is I think good overall. Though there are a few bugs and the story and lead was written adlib so that has a few problems. but overall you could potentially build a solid robust full scale game system in 1 month.

  • You could make a great base game in less than a day - adding polish + debugging however takes as long as it takes.

  • I know that it can take 15 years to make a bad game: http://venturebeat.com/2011/06/13/duke- ... ver-sucks/ <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz">

Sometimes the most strange ideas can turn out to be a good game though, so you never can tell how much time it will take.
