7 Errors is a game where you have to find the 7 mistakes before time runs out. Can you find all 7? Have fun looking.
  • Hi All,

I am getting the following error while previewing the file.

Error during export: Unable to Start HTTP server on localhost port 5000 (1114)

I have already added ports 5000-5010 in firewall.

    I am using the latest CS2 i.e. 84.

    OS: WIN7

I have also tried 'Run as administrator' to launch CS2.

    Any solution?

    Thanks,

    Shailesh

  • The port should be set to 50000 (fifty thousand), not 5000 (five thousand). Did you type in the wrong port number in Preferences? The same goes for your firewall, you need to make sure the port range is from fifty thousand.

Failing that see troubleshooting Construct 2's preview server.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Yes, it was 50000, but it was not working. I tried port 5000 to check out.

Port 50000 was also added in Firewall.

I have already gone through the above blog and tried all, but didn't work.

    Thanks,

    Shailesh

  • shaileshm, your pictures still show port 5000. This will definitely not work. It has to be 50000! Have you tried going through the troubleshooting I linked to with both the preferences and firewall set to port 50000?

  • Yes Ashley, I have changed the port to 5000 coz 50000 was not working.

I have re-tried the port 50000 but still getting the same error msg.

I have already gone through the troubleshooting link and tried all options but it didn?t work.

What type of other security reason may cause this issue, any clue?

  • Hi

I am checking the other possibilities. I have reinstalled the older version of C2 80 and got the following error msg.

    ---------------------------

    Construct 2 Check failure

    ---------------------------

Check failure! This is probably a bug:

After creating request queue, handle is NULL

    Condition: hRequestQueue != NULL

    File: HttpFileServer.cpp

    Line: 47

    Function: void __cdecl HttpFileServer::Start(const class std::basic_string<wchar_t,struct std::char_traits<wchar_t>,class std::allocator<wchar_t> > &,int)

    Build: release 80.2 (64-bit) checked

    Component: HTML5 exporter

    (Last Win32 error: 0)

You are using a 'checked' release of Construct 2, intended for testing, which causes certain errors to be reported this way. Hit Ctrl+C to copy this messagebox - it's useful information for the developers, so please include it with any bug reports! Click 'Abort' to quit (unsaved data will be lost!),'Retry' to turn off messages for this session and continue, or 'Ignore' to continue normally.

  • Error 1114 in the initial error message is ERROR_DLL_INIT_FAILED, "A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed". This sounds like a Windows installation problem maybe... has it ever worked or did it recently break? Can you provide more details about your computer hardware, setup, OS version, etc?

  • WIN7 - 64 bit

    Service Pack 1

    8 GB Ram, i5 3.10 GHz

It was working earlier, but now it is crashing. It was never worked on latest version of C2.

Not sure, whether any new security patch/rule on my machine crashing file preview.

  • It sounds like an installation conflict. Have you installed any software recently? The preview server has not changed at all over the past few C2 releases so if it broke I doubt it is a change in C2, it must be something else on your computer...

  • We are still checking the possible cause on WIN7, for time being we have setup WIN XP machine. It is working fine on XP machine.

Will update if the solution found for WIN 7.

    thanks,

    Shailesh

  • Any updates on this ? I have a similar issue. I can't preview, trying both over LAN and localhost.

Port kept at 50000, opened up in firewall and router (even tried with disabled firewall). I'm running as administrator and tried in Firefox and Chrome (both latest). R114 64-bit.

    Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1

    Intel i7 2.67GHz, 18GB RAM

The error codes I get are 1232 and 1214 though.

I've tried with WAMP on and off, but could WAMP be causing a conflict in the first place ? I currently export as HTML and then use WAMP to serve it as localhost and can test then. Not sure if I can test on other devices though, or do I need to upload it to dropbox then ?

I do know I can't seem to setup a home group, so maybe there's an issue there (I'm a tech noob).

  • Error 1214 is "The format of the specified network name is invalid." and error 1232 is "The network location cannot be reached." Considering the preview server runs on localhost and does not actually go over a network, this sounds like your computer is misconfigured or is conflicting with something else you have installed (WAMP?). Have you tried other ports in the 50000-65000 range as well?

  • Thanks! Yes, I tried port 60000 for instance. Misconfigured might be a possibility as well, since I can't seem to setup a homegroup either (although I do seem to have joined a default one).

I'll keep using the export method for the time being and try to learn more about networking in the meantime. And deinstalling WAMP, although I installed it in order to preview in the first place since the first time I tried to preview it didn't work either. But can't say for sure if that was the same problem since I hadn't opened the ports in my firewall at the time.

  • I'm having the same error on my computer, except I'm getting (5) at the end of the error message.
