Love the badges idea

...but what about adding "Early Adopter" since that will go away someday and may spur on some people to buy as a rare badge?

Is this something other than they have already done?

Maybe I am missing a part of the discussion but if you click on your name you will see that you already have the Early Adopter badge (it's also affixed to your avatar).

Early adopter badges are only for early adopters :) If you are a future customer and buy Construct 2 there's no way to get it if the phase has ended.

There probably will be some changes in how badges are handled when the early adopter phase ends but it's a while off yet. The whole point of it is it's meant to reward legitimate customers who supported us early on :D

I finally bought today, but there must have been a lag in getting that badge. Hence the suggestion. :-)

Either way the badge concept here is fantastic and I would like to see more of them, like for making tutorials, or helping others.

Tutorial: Helper, Teacher, Professor, etc

Demo Creator: Sand box, builder, Architect, etc

They may really get the community helping

Then folks like lucid, newt, deadeye, and R0J0 deserve goddamn "Bad Dudes" badges for all the stuff they've done around here.

I totally agree; the badge system is a great way to foster the community. It would be great if they continue to build upon it. Those categories you outlined would be an interesting choice too.

I'd suggest a big fat one for all the plug in devs.

Understandably, this is something that should be a bit low on the priority list.

Agreed but some people are really wired to achievements as modern games show. Making hard to get achievements may actually make C2 creators life easier, as people help. Maybe even add levels to the the badges? Or copper gold and silver for each?

There's a few more badges up now! I'm going to be doing them soon for # votes, but it's pretty complicated as within 2 mins of voting your allowed to change your vote. That means someone could upvote so you have 10 votes, downvote so you have 9, then repeat giving you lots of badges!

Pretty cool.

But now I feel like chasing princesses. And pirates too...

The pirate princess is a very elusive badge. I wouldn't spend time looking for it, she erm he will sort of find you :)
