[there are many other services like that too]
so even if you do good app, there are still lots of apps that will have higher place on search results thanks to fake rates

(1st reason is level of piracy)

I would have to agree that Google Play has it's clear disadvantages, despite the openness of the platform.

The search doesn't seem to operate in terms of closest, matching/relevant titles appearing first but rather the apps with the highest traffic with any related keywords.

You pay for what you get, I suppose.

Pretty much any popular service where ratings are important will have companies trying to subvert it. I doubt this is unique to Google Play.
