  • Hi,

    I am working on my mobile game project and I have got stuck on the screen ratio topic.I am not able to understand which ratio to use for the mobile game

    Important point to be considered that my game requires "fixed" screen ratio (means I can't select scale out/in) as I have designed the game around the ratio.And current ratio is 9:16 (720 x 1280) portrait

    So issues in my mind:-

    1.)Nowadays mobile screens are taller (ratio even exceeding more than 2).It guess that 9:16 will leave big black bars on the top and bottom. Should I go with current settings?

    2.)What do you think about black bars on the top & bottom? Do they give amateurish looks? Or users can ignore it?

    Please give me advise related to this topic

  • I was just checking about Cordova and it's future and I got to know about VoltBuilder volt.build . The attractive thing which I found is that no Mac is required for app building. I guess if no Mac is required then many of us who are on playstore can easily jump to iOS store (I know that $100 certificate is required but still one is saving a lot on Mac)

    Ashley can construct 3 implement such method for iOS development. Or an export option where one can take advantage of such services

    Advanced Minification can be sometimes resource consuming especially for older computers.

    Do you get any error message popup which says "Advanced minify failed, please check console" or something like that?

    Might happen because of your "Size" parameter.

    Completely wrong assumption. 1.) In advanced minification I used to get the APK at the end but after installing it and running it,it used to get freeze at the logo. Nothing to do with PC performance

    2.) Na,I already said,it was a random bug. I perfectly know those options. Rarely,like 1 in 20 times,it comes. And it is also visible on mobile too.

    The funny part ,I was unable to reproduce it. And I am afraid that it may come back on next use

    Also, "Construct 3 works offline" never worked for me. Whenever I click on "New Project" in absence of internet connection,error message comes that unable to load

    And the fun in that:- if I open a project using "Files" button,the project opens and it even runs

    So to overcome the issue,I have a blank copy of a save file. I load it instead of making a new project

    Currently,to overcome the issue,I add "wait for previous action" after load image action. But maybe it may not solve the issue

  • Extremely Disappointing !!!

    It doesn't make any sense to rely on 3rd party plugin, especially for monetisation purpose.

    And the thing which makes my blood boil is that there are no tutorials available for implementing them. All engines,even Godot have that. Because of this my admob account got banned (as I did not knew that interstitial has to be created once,not everytime during a session)

    In fact when 3d plugin came,it was a pinch for me as I believe monetisation should have more priority than 3d plugin

    what i suggest is to just pick randomly,

    it can be 22 x 22 too !!! and experiment!!

    But make sure that your code can use multiple sizes of tiles so that

    like

    just changing a global variable changes the size of tiles everywhere in your events

    so that once you explore your game

    and decide you want to change

    and the change is because

    you actually spent some time and got experience

    you can do the change with ease

    Genuinely speaking,this is a very excellent point. I itself use this ideology in many other things in construct 3. You can't figure out that what you will require in the future. So you should develop the code in such a way that later on just by tweaking a variable,you can do modifications accordingly

    As far as I know, construct 3 cannot handle multiple touches(at least on mobile). I have tried to solve same issue but I failed in that. Max you can make a single stick for control.

  • If possible then share the APK file.Otherwise I don't think that someone would be able to help you.

    At least I can tell you how well you game runs on my mobile

  • I want to generate a random number between 2 values,example:- between 1 and 60

    But the number should not be a float number and I want that probability of selection of all numbers is exactly equal

    Can you please test the android export with older construct 3 version (like r210) if possible. I have noticed that (maybe I am wrong) performance on android has dropped in later versions of construct 3. I have Huawei honor 7x and it was more than powerful enough to run any android game made on construct 3. But now something is quite odd (even changing layout takes time)
