  • I am developing on mobile devices, and the ability to determine if the game still has focus is extremely important. The game can be interrupted by users pressing the back or home button, or when receiving an incoming phone call or when another app comes into the foreground. Having this ability will allow developers to pause the game, save the current state or do other stuff that is required when the game is forced into the background.

    I believe that this should be a core feature, especially when targeting mobile devices.

    Please make this happen. (I'm down on my knees begging)

    PS - I've already submitted this to the Construct 3 suggestions and ideas. If any developers are targeting mobile devices, please vote. The title of the idea is the title of this post.

    Thanks for the response. I'm aware of the different flavours of Android APIs. My question was about the Cordova Android export options. Do the different APIs listed on the options refer to the minSDKversion or the targetSDKversion? The dialog for the Cordova Android export does not specify which one.

    I would like to know if the Android Versions in the Cordova export options has got something to do with the Minimum Android API and the Target Android API. If so, which one is the Android version referring to. I would greatly appreciate if any one can shed a light on this.

  • I've imported my project from Construct 2 to Construct 3. But noticed that some object behaviors were disabled (grayed out) from the properties bar. The problem is only with objects created with Construct 2. The properties are all enabled with objects created in Construct 3. I have encountered this problem with the Physics behavior.

    The following properties were disabled:

    1.Prevent rotation

    2.Friction

    3.Elasticity

    4.Linear Damping

    5.Angular Damping

    Would importing the project again solve the problem? I have already made a lot of changes in Construct 3 and would loose a lot of work if this is the only solution.

    [Update] : Just done another import. Same problem.

  • I'm testing my project on a mobile device and found out that using the Remote Preview of Construct 3 would always start with the first layout. Is there a way to test individual layouts using Remote Preview without editing the Project's first layout property to streamline our work flow? Can the awesome team at Scirra please consider adding this feature?

  • Hi Simo,

    Did you use the "on Key press" event? If so, try replacing it with the "on Key down" event instead. It solved my moonwalk problem.

  • I finally solved the problem. After reading Velojet's "Building a platform game - a beginner's guide", I realized that I was using the wrong keyboard event. I was using the "on key pressed" when I should be using the "on key down" event. Thank you Velojet for that awesome tutorial. And thank you xeed for pointing me to that useful manual. Thanks guys!!!

    Thanks for the reply. I'm still trying to figure out what you meant by "switch back from the "moving" animations to idle in each case".

    If i set the animation to "Idle" when the event "Platform On stopped" is triggered, will it not play the "Idle" animation regardless of what the last animation was playing? The weird thing is, the problem was solved after I renamed the "Idle" animation to "Static". But now my player would just slide when it tries to play the "Run" animation after being idle. Well I guess I didn't solve the problem. I am still going to try out the solution you offered, but I need a bit more explanation. Thanks again. I appreciate you taking time to reply to my post.
