  • armaldio Hey, great job!

    I had one question, would this useful for me if I wanted to quickly add Javascript library functionalities to C2? Like say I find a cool Javascript library, I want an easy way to incorporate it into a plugin. Any tips?

    Thanks!

  • I really like Pyxeledit for tilesheets. I still use Photoshop for some pixel stuff, and I also use a few programs on my iPad air that are actually really good for making simple animations while sitting on the couch.

  • I haven't had a chance to try it out, but it looks great! I love the pixel animation you got there, keep it up!

  • Gigatron This is awesome man!

    Suggestions just from a quick look at it:

    1) More ability to customize controls maybe? Maybe not that important of what key does what but more like, changing the acceleration speed or turn speed, so maybe we can make the car "drift"

    2) Is there some good way or size you suggest for adding or editing images to work with it?

    3) More settings like collision effect on slow down, off the road effect, etc

    Awesome job so far though!

  • How about when Copy pasting a script action for it to be pasted where you want it to and not at the bottom of the event

  • Tinimations Congrats on the IGN Feature man! Saw it on there and remembered that was a C2 game! http://www.ign.com/beta/videos/2015/11/ ... o-gameplay

  • Quick question rexrainbow , what is the format that is needed for the Push JSON action for Firebase?

    I was hoping I could do a simple Push so I would put in the JSON value box:

    "{author: something, title: something}"

    So then it would create in Firebase something like

    { -randompushvaluecreated

    author: something,

    title: something

    }

    But console keeps coming back with an invalid token and the first character after the {

    Any ideas?

  • Put me down for interested

  • Hey Nicotine , generally the widely used "other program" people use for tilesets is a program called Tiled. It's a great free program that you can import a tileset and draw out your tile maps then export them to a file that can be imported in Construct 2 to fill a tilemap.

    My problem with using Tiled for Construct 2 is that we can only import one of the layers from the Tiled program export at a time.

    I usually just use the in game tile map editor in Construct 2 because it's much faster to look at what you just made in game and you will probably end up having to do multiple tilemaps on top of each other to get what you want anyways.

    There are some great tutorials on the tile map editor in the tutorials section and some good Tilemap source code files on the store to learn from.

    Anyways, have fun with Construct 2!

  • Hey you Javascript people out there!

    I'm very beginner when it comes to Javascript but I can sort of get it when reading through code. Anyways..

    I wanted to practice by incorporating a generally simple JS library called PathFindingJS (https://github.com/qiao/PathFinding.js), into a plugin for C2. But I'm having some issues with the runtime.js I think. I copied over one of rexrainbow s plugins he made that referenced a JS library but I might have missed something. The plugin installs fine but I get an error when I run a basic template project that I added the plugin to.

    Here is a screenshot of the error when the game starts

    So basically for the plugin I made one expression that is supposed to call a function in the JS library to create a grid with a width and height that is specified.

    Could anyone take a look at my couple js files and see if anything stands out as broken or set up incorrectly?

    Also, if I am incorporating a JS library in the plugin, do you put ALL of that library's related files in the base folder with the runtime.js and such or do you keep them in a separate folder inside that folder?

    Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

  • Yea, I really hope Ashley has considered this option for Construct 3. The other day I picked up a copy of GameMaker and was shocked to see how easy it was to make different views (aka split screen). Just copy that from GameMaker and you can color me impressed for C3.
