  • I'm attempting to fill a layout with random sized 9-patches. filling all the gaps.

I've got the width working for 1 row, but want to continue this randomization to fill the whole layout.

the minimum width of a box is 128 and the max can be the layout width (divisible by 128)

same would go with the height.

I'm just not sure how to make it so that they dont generate over each other for the next row.

here's a picture of what i have so far.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Awesome ! Thanks!

  • Not sure if i'm using this correctly,

but i did a "game analytics" on created -> game analytics Init (filled in the gamekey and secret key from the game added to my dashboard on their website)

then made a sprite that when i click on does "Game Analytics -> DesignEvent "Click" , 1

then Gameanalytics "Send data" (i also tried "session end"

but the console is spitting out the error

    api.gameanalytics.com/v2/3a27fb746e4179f2120c687c78bd4e3c/events:1 POST https://api.gameanalytics.com/v2/3a27fb ... e3c/events 400 (Bad Request)

GaJavaScriptSdk.js:461 Error: There was a problem with the request: status 400

  • When i pick Top/Left/Right?Bottom - it stretches the sprite to the width of the layout. Is it possible to have a checkbox or dropbown that prevents that behavior?

to keep the aspect ratio of the sprite, but still pins it to the side of the screen?

(and therefore keeping the X or Y value of the sprite where its originally placed too)

    thanks!

  • Is there "pin to hotspot" meant to pin the object to the other's origin point? Any chance you could add a "pin to image point" option to enter a number of the image point you wish to pin to?

    thx

    great work!

  • Construct 3 Feature requests can be submitted and voted on with the new submission platform.

  • Another alternative to playmaker is a plugin called Gameflow. It's similar, but different. And cheaper. Not as big a community for it yet.

  • Ashley - Is it possible to copy a plugin into a local folder, so that when C3 loads it finds it and adds it to the addon manager, similar to how it works in C2? Perhaps a chrome local storage folder somewhere?

    thx

  • Porting Construct 2 Plugins to Construct 3

    - i think your biggest frustration is your patience level right now hehe. just wait a few weeks for the full thing. Now's a great time to test your game development skills by restricting yourself to 40 events. Think of it like a game jam rule requirement. Stretch those thinking skills and let ashley and tom smooth out all of the bugs before the full release

  • Fantastic!

I'm hoping someone can write a tool to easily convert a C2 Plugin into the new C3 format.

Do you think that's possible to achieve Ashley ? or is it too wildly different to be able to do that.

    Keep up the great work!

Ashley Tom - I think the build service is going to be fantastic if it works without too many crazy hoops to jump through. As NotionGames has said, being able to feel confident to be able to deploy your games properly when they are complete is very important to instill confidence in your subscribers.

The upcoming poll voting system for future features sounds like a great idea too so that you get a clearer idea of what's a priority from the community.

A roadmap as other have suggested of upcoming C3 Features will help people get on board with paying for a subscription and let them know that they are contributing to the future of scirra. A lot of people feel like C3 (right now) is just an online version of C2 with bits of future C3 information spread across different threads etc. The blog posts help, but having all of the plans in one easy to see location would be much easier to refer to for everyone.

A tool that converts C2 2 plugins into C3 compatible plugins. I've spoken to rexrainbow and he thinks that if he has re-write his hundreds of plugins that it will take him a year to do so. So many people rely on addons that if they have to wait a long time to be able to use them (or to import C2 projects in C3 that rely on them) that they won't subscribe to C3. I'd go so far as suggest you either give them free access to C3 or hire them on your team full time. Plugin creators like him and everyone else who extends C2 are so valuable you don't want them to drop contributing to Construct.

I've seen how far C2 has come since the first version, i can't wait to see how C3 progresses over time.
