  • It's why I'm writting here. Stable is selected, plain as day, in settings. I checked the moment I got notified that I had updated to 226.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Why does Construct automatically update to Beta (most recently with 226) despite having selected to only be notified about stable versions in the settings. And furthermore, why after every update recently do I have to change my password, because my old one is no longer recognized?

  • Hey, it worked!

    Thanks a million, cheers.

  • The title is not ENTIRELY true. I CAN log in on my laptop, can't log in my desktop. Tried it with another user (of a friend) and I logged in fine.

What happens is that, when I enter my user and pass construct just crashes and closes. Tried it with another user, no problem. This is before attempting to open any prjoect.

Anyone? What should I do to bring more attention to this issue?

No, just in this topic and another one I created. I didn't report it as I can't reproduce the issue in a clean small project, and as far as I recall they will not accept large projects in bug reports. So, as I see it, I have no other option than to ring the bell in this forum concerning this issue in particular.

  • I have yes, and it works fine as a single file. However, for various reasons I prefer the folder format (save, load speed and more importantly - version control). Hitting F12 shows no errors.

  • Ok, so I tried deleting most of the objects in the game...around 100, adding up to some 3000 + seperate images, and the projects opens like a charm. This was not an issue in earlier versions for sure, as (out of fear of some such future problems) I've stress tested the project and it works perfectly with many more objects and images close to 20 000. Are there any new limitations for some reason?

I recieve the exact same error in the browser version and the exact same longer Save period, the only difference is that I can't open the project at all from the nw.js version. I though the longer save period and the error happening were "normal" for the browser version, as up until now I've always used the desktop one and only because I can't load my folder project did I move to the browser one - where, incidentaly, I can't load my project on every attempt (1 of 5 ~).

I just tried severely trimming down my project, removed some 3000 + images (frames) worth of objects and the issues seem to have dissapeared. So project size is obviously related.

  • Hi, ever since last week I'm fighting with restoring the smoothness of my work, so far to mixed results.

Ever since the 210, I can't use the desktop build to open my project as a Folder Based project - I updated to last NW.JS, there is no error - the projects loads for a few seconds (Judging by CPU usage in the task manager) then just does nothing...CPU usage falls to 1% and the project never opens. If I open it as a single file, however, the project opens.

Now, since then I decided to move to the web version (where I'm suffering a lot - its slower, it doesn't save everytime, saves longer and most importantly - I can't use external editor shortcut in the image editor which I use alot) There the project opens 1 out of 5 times... The other 4 attempts to open it, it freezes like the desktop version, but every so often the project loads.

NOTE: I've tried this on another PC to the same results. Clean isntall and all.

Now, I've been working this week at full speed, trying to convince myself that this is the new normal and its OK...but its not, and who knows what next releases will change and I risk of losing 4 years worth of heavy work. Can someone please give my issue some thought. ANY help is GREATLY appreciated.

    Thanks

Ok, I'm still having issues. I updated the NW.JS, but when I open the folder based project it just freezes and does nothing. If I open the project as a single file it opens no worries (this is what previously tricked me into thinking all is ok.) This isn't the case with all folder projects, I tried a different one. I removed the only third party effect I had and still the same. In the console I see just one error:

main.js:252 Error while parsing the 'sandbox' attribute: 'allow-storage-access-by-user-activation' is an invalid sandbox flag.

...which as I read elswhere is supposedly harmeless.

ANy idea what could possibly be the issue, as going to single file is troublesome Thanks and cheers.

Ok, I seem to have an issue. At some point the error msg that I was using an old version of nw.js came up. I need some help though, I downloaded the package and latest sdk stable version, but whatever I do, Construct thinks I have the old version? WHere does the nw.js live? I can't find it.

    Thanks, cheers.

EDIT: Nevermid, I found it. Seems I had made a mess with several constructs. All good.
