  • I've been creating games with C3 but when I looked into getting an app for one of my blogs (which uses Wordpress) I realised I could try and use AJAX+JSON with Construct 3 to take advantage of the WordPress REST API to show the latest posts. Turns out it worked quite nicely.

Listing in Google Play Store: play.google.com/store/apps/details

At the moment it has one big issue which you can see in this screenshot below of the latest 2 posts. It the titles it shows HTML Entity code instead of "What's" and also instead of the hyphen symbol. I'll get round to asking for help in another forum thread at some point. I can fix it with an iframe but I had a lot of trouble styling the iframe with css.

For now it's a simple one-page app. It needs a tonne more work doing to it but for now it pulls in the latest 3 posts using the Wordpress API and then displays the title, description and thumbnail. If the articles are clicked on it opens a new window for the full article. Eventually I want to improve it so you can see more articles and also click them and stay in the app to read the article content. It also has all links to social media channels etc.

This is not what I ever planned to use C3 for haha. But it looks like it will prove a nice solution to having apps like this for my wordpress powered websites.

I want it to be super simple so that people who keep up with personal finance news can see my latest articles quickly. But it still needs a lot more depth added. I'll probably use this thread whenever I push official updates to Google Play because there's certainly scope for lots of improvement. Full details are also at moneycortex.com/app if anyone's interested.

  • Love the simplicity of how it functions. Tools like this are great for some people so hopefully it can do help. The art style really suits it.

  • This is awesome! Thoroughly deserved, the graphics are brilliant!

  • Thanks sizcoz.

I installed GameAnalytics and over the last 24 hours the average player is hitting the play button 7 times to try and complete formations. Which I'm pretty delighted with to be honest. Inevitably lots of people will play for 30 seconds and decide it's not a game for them so for the average to come out at 7 attempts is great. I'd definitely recommend the GameAnalytics addon to anyone who sees this, it can give amazing insight into how much players use the game.

  • It's a nicely made game with cool rumbles and particle effects. For some reason I couldn't get any sound to work on Itch so I had to play the game silent which lost quite a bit of the atmosphere of it I imagine!

I've been having trouble uploading to the Scirra arcade so you're not alone there.

  • I recently got my Construct 3 license and decided for my first game to create a fairly simple and casual game that relied on physics for the fun. I've published it in HTML5.

    Game name:

    Towering Yoga Masters!

    Description:

The aim of the game is to successfully balance 10 yoga buddies on top of each other.

    Places to play:

I've distributed the game around and it's got some nice plays early on.

I tried to add it to the Scirra Arcade too but I keep getting an error so will not sure whether that will be possible

    The plan:

The game needs plenty of work and depth adding to it and the plan is to update it over time and continue to distribute it. I won't list everything here but overtime I may update this thread depending on what changes I make.

    Screenshots:

Thanks for checking this thread out.

  • Nice job with the graphics, sound and physics.

When I play it my best score doesn't update. It always shows it as 0:0.

It seems a bit strange fuel goes down at an even rate, personally I think it'd be a much better mechanic if it went down very slowly when the vehicle is idle, but went down at a faster rate when accelerating. That would make me feel more pressure to make it up a hill first time.

Trying to play on a desktop is tricky with pedals either side of the timer. I'd rather they were next to each other, or at least a lot closer together to save me constantly having to swipe my mouse back and forth. I expect they're positioned at the moment with mobile users in mind which makes sense, but if it's also for desktop users it'd be good to have a setting to change pedal positions as an option.

One thing i felt the game lacked was anything that differentiates it from others in the genre, like Hill Climb Racing. The first level says it's called 'Village' but I've not seen a single house or anything on the topic of a village, if it's going to be called village I'd rather there were things in it that gave it personality, on the first level you just go up and down hills and collect coins worth 5points, and that seems to be it. Be much more interesting if you could run over the odd sheep or cow that's escaped from a village and get bonus points.

Overall it is a nicely made game, just lacks that depth to make it worth keep playing. When lots of people have already played other games like this to death it needs fresh aspects to make it worth coming back to.

  • There doesn't seem to be a list. Perhaps one could be started. Doing a search doesn't seem to throw up to many results.

This one seems to be the most recently published on Xbox that's been shared here:

Not sure of too many others recently.

  • I think Instagram reaches more likes than FB since FB doesn't like hashtags

Definitely. Instagram is certainly easier in terms of you can just use a tonne of hashtags and lots of people will see your stuff.

  • That rewind function is super nice! I just need to create a game idea that would give an excuse to use it haha.

  • Nice little update to the graphics. Your images in your original thread above don't seem to be showing anymore. I see there is already over 700 plays on Kongregate, nice start

  • I hope to make the release soon.

Awesome! I once had the idea of creating an 'app for freestylers'. The idea being it would be a very simple app, it would contain a range of beats that were ideal for freestyling over. People who like rapping could use it to practice their skills. The app would have a certain amount of free tracks, and then users could pay for an upgrade which made even more beats available to them. On websites like AudioJungle they have some really good urban beats that would be perfect for it, at fairly low cost. The idea is not something I ever decided to go ahead with but maybe it's something that would compliment your app as a supporting app if you wanted to make it
