  • This would be cool but I can't say I'm optimistic...

  • I don't think this book is the be all and end all when it comes to game design, in my opinion what makes strategy games fun is the sense of accomplishment when you win a battle etc or where you are rewarded by being able to level up, not just in your stats (although that can definitely work) but in what units and such you have access to.

  • Try Construct 3

  • It could absolutely work and sounds really cool if it did, but the idea of them flying in seems kind of strange maybe something like the mechanics of darkest dungeon would work better as you assemble a team from people you find and they have permadeath also. It would be really cool to see a superhero game like that

  • Thanks for that, good luck with releasing it and putting it on Xbox One, I look forward to playing it there

  • It could work but doesn't sound that fun, furthermore turn based RPGs can be very boring and it is very rare that someone will actualy play your whole game (unless it is very good or has great art) as there are hundreds of mediocre rpg maker games on the Internet and your game will probably be quite long and require lots of time investment from the player. Another problem with this is that it wouldn't feel like you won the battle, rather it would feel as though it was down to chance, but it could work.

    Cool idea but I think it is best to stay away from full RPGs as there are so many of them out there

  • Anonnymitet Thankyou, I was just wondering how well your game has done for you financialy on a scale of 1-10, it's absolutely fine if you don't want to awnser I was just wondering how well steam greenlight games do.

  • Anonnymitet thank you so much for that information that's pretty much put all the uncertainties I had to rest

  • I don't have the time to test your levels but good luck with getting past greenlight:)

  • Anonnymitet what did you do to get the traffic to your game once it was off the front page?

  • Make the level and fill it with blocks to avoid then make an invisible Sprite that travels up the screen at a set speed and give it the behaviour scroll to

  • YES! cloud save, leaderboards, achievements;

    That's going straight in my basket

  • Anonnymitet thank you for that I was a bit conflicted wether promotion was needed or not as there are lots of different things I have seen and read telling me to do it different ways.

    Also I was wondering if this was your first game you tried to get greenlight or even if it was the first game you have ever published (to websites like kongragrate etc)

    Thanks
