  • No offense, but what a ridiculous request.

How are Scirra to earn a living if they allow such a thing?

  • Whiteclaws

    That statement is untrue.

If you read THIS article from Ashley you will see that the free steam keys where for previous owners only, before steam purchases where available.

  • The manual states:

"There are many examples in Construct 2's Examples directory. Click Browse all examples to see them. There are over 40 which go through things like making a simple platformer and physics demos. It's highly recommended to look at all the examples. Commonly asked questions like "How do I set up custom controls?" have examples showing how it's done in the Examples folder."

If everyone did this, they would then have a far greater understanding of the mechanics of C2, and could then tailor their questions more specifically, rather than asking for someone to do it for them.

  • No.

It has also been retired so you'd be better off using Construct 2.

  • You haven't given much to go on - no-one on here is psychic!

If you load the 'Audio effects.capx' that comes with C2, can you hear anything when previewed? If not, then can hear ANY sounds at all, outside of C2?

    What browsers are you trying?

Try and give as much info as you can, or the responses for help are just guesswork.

  • Are you saying the fps drops to 19fps when 'Z' key is pressed?

If so, then for me, I can keep the z key pressed and the fps never drops below 60.

  • I can report that everything is back to very nippy, which is nice ;)

Fingers back to being crossed, at least for a couple of days.

  • *** UPDATE 11/06/13 *** Tom

Sluggish from 6:30 am onwards. As of 1pm, site is worse than ever. $0 secs to login, 30 secs per link.

Something is not right with the server :(

    Now getting:

    Error

  • At around 2:45pm the site was almost unusable, but it seems to be quite nippy now.

    Fingers crossed!

  • tulamide

    I couldn't agree more :)

I only experienced very slow performance once or twice a day on the previous server, whereas now it seems much more frequent.

If they are only using a one server setup, then that would probably not help.

Hopefully Tom will fix it eventually.

  • Sluggish all weekend.

As of 8:30 am GMT site is virtually unusable - 30 seconds to login; 20-30 secs per link.

    *UPDATE*

10am GMT site responsiveness good; 3 sec login, 2 sec link response.

  • This has been answered numerous times: you cannot run the exported project locally.

Either run the preview, run over wi-fi, or export and upload to a service such as Dropbox.

  • I find these type of questions utterly pointless, due to the subjective nature of the responses.

A proper evaluation would require installing any free version of the software you are interested in, and comparing the results for yourself. Anything else is just someone's opinion.

BTW crashes are nearly always caused by buggy or old display drivers.

  • Tom

As of 6pm GMT, the site is very responsive. Not instant, but certainly not sluggish.

Hopefully, the extreme slow-downs are now a thing of the past :)

    * UPDATE *

    Tom

    8:30 am GMT

    20 seconds to login

10 secs to bring up a page link

The previous server was always zippy at this time of the morning, so something is amiss :(
