  • I'm with korbaach on this - your response is nonsensical.

All automatic breaks rely on the fact that a space will be inserted at some point, otherwise they would never work.

If you just want a break regardless than do a letter count and force a break, but no system would do such a thing in real life.

  • You're right - I should have looked at your example rather than create my own :/

Anyway, simple way around your issue - and I have tried and verified this with your example - is to just enable or disable collisions for sprite2 when the relevant key is pressed.

So Events 1 and 2 just need a second action that sets the relevant sprite2 collision property - Enable for Event 1 and Disable for Event 2.

  • *moved, as anything to do with the Arcade is a website issue.

Others have mentioned this before and I'm wondering if Tom knows why this is the case?

In the mean time, is it a viable option just to delete your old submission and then reupload your new one. Maybe change a few things in the Project properties like it's name and version before submission?

    Worth a try?

  • Easy way around is to add another action to the one that disables solid that moves the player 1 pixel at angle 270.

  • I used some of the assets from Scirra but the game engine used was libgdx.

You do realize that you need to have used Construct 2 and have a valid license in order to use Scirra assets?

[quote:3l74t569]The media in this bundle is free to be used for commercial or non-commercial purposes, as long as the work is created using Construct 2, and that if used commercially you have purchased a valid Construct 2 Personal or Business license.

  • for me the jump speed at platform behaviour is too fast. how to make it slower? slower when jump up and going down too.

It's all covered in the manual.

Just play around with the Platform properties for acceleration, deceleration, jump strength etc until you find the effect you're after.

    * locked so Tom can investigate.

  • Has C2 ever worked?

This is most likely due to graphics drivers or the Mac implementation of Windows 7 - I don't see how this can be construed as a Construct 2 bug, unfortunately.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

    First impressions.........err wow

    Very cool effect, young sir!

  • *moved as this is a website issue.

This is the most appropriate place for such a post so that Tom can see it. In this case, the correct thing is to email and Tom will deal with it as soon as he is able.

Please be aware that Scirra are UK based so it is unlikely that Tom will see the email until tomorrow.

It's hard to help when people are treated like this...

    Agree entirely.

If you can't make reasonably polite, non aggressive posts without using profanity, then please don't post at all.

I understand users can get frustrated, but please try to restrain from such posts - children also access this forum, and I think it's inappropriate for them to be subjected to such posts.

  • As long as you have fully tested the free version of C2, you should have a good idea whether it's suitable for you or not.

    Regarding your questions:

    a) You can do what you like with the completed game. The only caveat is that you cannot make any money from the free version.

    b) This is discussed nearly every day and the answer is always the same from Ashley and Scirra - the prospect of a native exporter is basically zero. Do a search on this forum to see all the discussions about native exports.

    c) The personal license allows you to install C2 on as many devices as you wish, as long as it is only you that is accessing the licensed version. This is all covered in the Store.

  • Yes it is exported, I exported the project onto google drive for testing purposes

Then as has already been explained, it is impossible to recover a project from the exported project.

Have you got the autosave and backup options setup?

If so, there should be the .autosave and .backup files in your original project folder. You would just need to rename them as something like 'mygame.capx' and you should be able to open them in C2.

See the following section of the manual that covers the autosave and backup options in Preferences.

  • What is the difference between free and paid edition?

I downloaded the free version of the game, but I want to know the difference between the free and paid version of the game.

    Thanks!

Here is the main points from the Manual:

    [quote:926nyrvy]

    Construct 2 Free Edition

Construct 2 can be downloaded and installed to any computer for free, including site-wide at non-commercial institutions like schools. Without a license, it runs as the Free Edition. This has the following limitations:

A maximum of 100 events in a project

A maximum of 4 layers in any layout

A maximum of 2 effects in a project

No folder organisation in the project bar

    No event search

    No configurations bar

    No Families

    No Preview on LAN

Not allowed to be used for commercial purposes (however, it can be used in education and other non-profit organisations)

There is also a comparison chart HERE.
