  • Thank you for your answer Gumshoe! Now that's clear. One last question though : Is it possible to define a special path where the file would be saved or download on the computer?

  • Hi everyone!

I looked deeply in the forum, searching for an answer to my question, but I found nothing that clearly did (at least from what my english level allowed be to understand). So the question is : Is it even possible to overwrite a project file from an ingame action? I'm developing some tool and it would be handy for me to be able to update it while it is uploaded.

Thanks for reading my question, and have a nice day!

    GaMan

EDIT : I forgot to say I will not be the only one to use the tool, and the project file has to be the same for everyone. That's why I need to update the project file itself and not saving a copy on the computer.

  • SketchyLogic Wow! The first time I heard about it I get caught instantly by the art style and the gamplay (I'm a huge fan of Ace Attorney after all )! This is pretty awesome to learn that you guyz did it on Construct 2. I didn't buy the game yet, but I will ASAP.

Can't wait to see your next game!

Btw, i still believe with a solid dialogue management system Construct will be the best & easiest adventure game development platform. Finger crossed about C3 (:

    Amen!

EDIT : By the way, I don't know if you intend to translate your game in French one day, but if you do, it would be a pleasure to give it a try (for free obviously, considering I'm not a pro)!

  • Considering I just thought about making a game with isometric art... That comes along at just the right time!

  • Seems really nice! I think I'll give it a try, even though the price is a bit high. Thanks for sharing mickleburrbank, and welcome!

Awesome! Thanks a lot for sharing!

  • You're welcome! Glad it helped.

  • You're welcome! I'm also proud to say I hold the high-score on your game, actually.

I think I kinda needed to hear this piece of advice - remember the original feel I was going for and don't stray too far - I kinda lost track with all the new things I wanted to put into the game!

Yeah, that was the feeling I had, actually. Even though I'm sure you'll come up with something at least as good as what you did during the Underground Jam.

    Keep up the good work!

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Love the graphic style! This would inspire me for some kind of pirate games.

Are you working on a game with that type of graphics ?

  • Hi Ken95! What about some hero that has lost his sword and is looking for it before he has to go on a very great quest?

  • Hello mci!

I think there are several possibilities to solve your problem. I think the best could be to place some kind of invisible landmark just before the hole. When one of your enemy gets in collision with the landmark, he jumps. You could even make the jump according to some specific values saved in some instance variables of the landmark. This way the enemy would jump more or less depending on the size of the following hole.

    Hope this is relevant!

  • Wow! Thanks for sharing ! Could save lot of time.

  • I don't think that's possible yet, indeed. At least you can isolate these elements on a same layer, as if it was a group.
