Forget about default textbox restrictions, you can create sprites atop of the textbox
  • Hi everyone ! Here's my bug record.

    Problem Description

    The Textbox displays wrong.

    Attach a Capx

    Textbox_bug.capx

    Description of Capx

    Nothing but a simple textbox.

    Steps to Reproduce Bug

    • Create a text box.
    • Launch game from preview or export.

    Observed Result

The text is only on one line, and vertically centered.

    Expected Result

The text should be as seen in the editor : placed in top-left corner, possibly on several lines.

    Affected Browsers

    • Chrome: YES
    • FireFox: YES
    • Microsoft Edge : YES

    Operating System and Service Pack

I tried from two different computers : Windows 10 Service Pack (?) and Windows 8 service Pack (?).

    Construct 2 Version ID

r227. But the bug is the same on r230.

Thank you! Have a nice day!

  • Closing as won't fix: the expected result is incorrect, text boxes are single-line by design unless you choose textarea mode. This is how browsers implement them, not Construct 2. The positioning isn't centered but I don't think this aspect is standardised. The editor representation is never going to be exact either since form controls are rendered differently in browsers so it's just basically a placeholder; for example the checkbox control doesn't really look like what you really get either.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Got it! Sorry about that and thank you for your answer!
