I'm not looking for precision, for some reason the "time" is precise enough, or at least acts as though it is. I just need a way to tell the "time" to reset, stop, or change values. I can't use dt for this.

    Thanks for your responses!

Javascript has an internal clock that can't be easily manipulated?

  • In a game I've been working on, I required timing accuracy to approx. 1/10th of a second. I tried to use dt for this, but events wouldn't properly initiate via a dt tracking global/local variable, so I was forced to continue using regular "time", the kind you get when you use a condition of "system -> time = x seconds".

I would really appreciate any helping in determining a means of manipulating this form of time in C2. I would love to be able to reset it, freeze it, and change it's value.

I've spoken of this before, but dt was the only alternative at the time, and it plainly doesn't work for my project due to an unknown cause of imprecision. And yes, I know that 1/10th of a second doesn't conform with the framerate of most games, but the "time" variable still manages to respond to tenths of a second just fine, whereas dt does not.

So, is there any way to manipulate the "time"? If there isn't, I would really appreciate this feature being added if possible.

    Thank you!

  • Do you mean:

    condition & condition

                OR

    condition & condition

Because I would like that also.

glerikud sub-events don't always work for this. I've run into this problem myself, and it can be frustrating to work around.

I think I actually brought this up before..

  • Ask GenkiGenga if you can use footage of his gorilla fight, or of his final boss (in The Adventures of Froghead). Both are very cool!

  • Wow, that's an average of over 28 sprites per day! I look forward to playing your game and I wish you the best of luck in getting hosted on the Scirra Store!

  • DravenX, have you spoken with Scirra about creating spritepacks to sell on the Scirra store? Seems to me that they need content, and you are obviously a passionate creator with great skills! You should send them an E-mail with your proposal and a link to one of your most coveted spritepacks. Can't hurt to ask. I think you could find much greater success on the Scirra store, and you deserve it.

  • Congratulations! I voted and commented earlier.

Everyone, definitely try to get some friends to vote as well, Scirra needs you! I'll get a few extra votes from friends in the coming days.

  • Really nice work so far, the framework has already begun to come along nicely. I'll be interested to keep up with your progress, and let us (and me) know if you could use some help from the community!

  • 3 pics

These 3 pictures show my mouse in slightly different locations on the "search forums" searchbox. Unfortunately, fraps doesn't capture the mouse location, so I had to superimpose fake mouse images into the picture in the most precise location I could, so these are accurate, albeit fabricated.

The first picture shows what happens when I go to activate the search box underneath my "teahousemoon [ 0 ]" personalized link box for the site. If I went down just a tiny bit more (approx. the bottom third of the search box itself) with my cursor, I would be able to activate the search box.

The second picture shows what happens when I am able to activate the search box (with the I cursor appearing). This can only be activated on the bottom third of the search box.

The third picture shows what happens when I move my cursor approx. 1 frame above the location my cursor is in for the 2nd picture. With this standard mouse pointer, I cannot activate the search box, and clicking has no response.

I should also note that my resolution is 1080x1920.

I hope this helps, thanks Tom!

  • 1. The "compare features" link on the bottom left of the old web pages (e.g. here) is linked to the scirra store. Could confuse potential customers.

    2. The forum search box requires me to click on the bottom third of it to activate. Likewise, it's very easy to click on my profile address box thing instead, since the link to it extends all the way down into the search box.

Using updated chrome with updated video drivers.

I imagine these things will be fixed with the rest of the site changes, but thought I'd let you know anyways!

    Looking great so far!

  • Multiplayer support would be great to have become more intuitive, and I suspect that in time that this may become better supported.

C2 is 2D. I wouldn't expect it to become a 3D software any more than I would expect Pizza Hut to start selling ice cream cake.

That being said, only time will tell. So far as I can tell, Scirra has no expiration date.

  • The video is great, this game has some real potential. Nice work!

  • GenkiGenga

Don't get down on yourself, you made an excellent game, it's just not something that an impatient crowd like the one you will mostly find on kongregate and newgrounds anticipates. In a downloadable environment, where there is a bit more investment implied with the gaming process, it could find better results.

I just reloaded the game page 4 times and I can't get it past the "use chrome" screen. Nothing responds except for left mouse button which makes a clicking noise. Using updated chrome, and my machine is plenty powerful, and video driver is up to date.

    Music ambiance is playing, though.
