  • Gillis, that is looking great! Really good work!

Your female character reminds me of a "Zora" from "Zora's Domain" in Zelda: OoT.

  • that is awesome :)

Fraps has always been fine for me in the past at 1080x1920, 30fps (or 29.97) recording.

    radeon hd 5770, wd black, athlon II x4 635 2.9, 16 gb ddr3 1300, win7 64

Wrangler: Thanks for the information, I've been super busy but eventually I'll get around to investigating these alternatives. However, fraps should be fine.

I received a full E-mail from fraps yesterday but have been to busy to read it through. I'll report here if anything interested has been discovered.

  • Thanks inkBot, I'll give it a look when I get a chance. And my issue with fraps is beyond just html5 recording, I believe. I think it is an issue with the software itself; at least that's my impression. But I'm surprised because I have had the same problem with both the current update, and the version before. I would have thought they'd have fixed any error they made. Oh well.

My cursor flickers when it is above a clickable object every time I go to this game's webpage. No other webpage, on Scirra Arcade or elsewhere, even while this page is active, responds in the same manner.

This only happens in updated chrome, not in updated firefox or ie9.

  • Yeah I was using Chrome for the testing, and I also tried Firefox. I believe I successfully recorded in Firefox, just with the same lame, unreliable performance.

Do you know if you used to get this decrease in performance?

  • Thank you for your responses, Blackhornet and Ashley!

I would like to have a few minutes to investigate this situation a bit further myself prior to posting the capx, and unfortunately I am engaged by another task that I must complete prior to that. I will return to this post a little later; I just wanted to thank both of you and let you know I am still interested in this.

  • Ashley said r102 will be stable. And it will be released in two weeks tops :)

Ashley said he wants to provide a stable release within the next week or two, it's just a goal.

Since the agenda right now appears to be focused on finishing a stable release, the features you find in r102 (the current beta), are probably, basically, the features you can expect in the stable release. Note that release 95 (last stable release) only had 4 changes in the changelog.

    • Radeon HD 5770 /w AMD Catalyst 12.8 (video driver - up to date)
    • Windows 7 home prem 64 bit SP1

Tested on updated Chrome, updated IE9, and updated Firefox.

All is well on Chrome and, [Correction: Audio and gameplay is completely out of sync on IE9, but display looks good]

..in fact, IE9 displays the graphics ideally, whereas Chrome is flawed (take note of the little 'thorn-like' blemishes on the sides of the grey arrow markers in chrome [and firefox], but not in IE9.)

However, Firefox (up to date 15.0.1) is giving terrible performance. Likewise, the bottom of the game screen doesn't display correctly, appearing to move the bottom text up a good many pixels.

Can be repeated by testing in Firefox.

  • I've already contacted Fraps, but I was wondering if anyone else who used a registered version of Fraps on here is experiencing any issues with it?

All my drivers/software/OS (win7 64) are up to date.

I wanted to record my game to check precise timings, but no can do :(

The framerate takes a huge hit. And not long ago I used Fraps to successfully record high intensity online PC game segments with no problem...

  • haha^^

  • If you do you following:

If ObjectX is overlapping ObjectY --> Spawn ObjectZ

                                                        --> Set InstanceVariableZ to 2

    *Where InstanceVariableZ acts on ObjectZ

Then farther down the event sheet, you have:

When InstanceVariableZ = 2   --> Set ObjectZ animation frame to 2

The above works as expected. ObjectZ spawns in frame 2 of its animation.

However, if you switch the two on your event sheet, even if nothing else is inbetween, it doesn't work properly.

For me, this causes the "initial frame" to appear sporadically.

I didn't put this into bugs, because thus far I have simply not been knowledgeable enough to understand the issues I've faced.

I'm using updated Chrome, updated video drivers, r102

    Thank you!

    Edit:

I understand that the engine must run through the entire event sheet again prior to returning to that particular event, it just seems like a bit of an extreme response, considering I would think that even when they are switched, it should only take a single "tick" to correct the flaw. I don't know..

  • Just fyi....and did I mention this post puts me over 1000 Scirra points?
