That is what I need! Great catch fredriksthlm

Would you explain to me why this is the way should be done?

  • Even from my PC Windows, I get the same result.

Windows prompts me to choose the application and selecting Mail opens a new email with no attachment.

If you wanna play with this you can download the example here.

I appreciate your help on this.

    thanks a lot.

  • dop2000 actually I did use the right "text/plain" MIME type but it doesn't work as expected.

On my mobile device, the share action is called but when I choose email I don't get any attachments or text content in other ways.

Do you think is a matter of MIME type? I have also tried "text/text" and "text/html" with the same results.

  • Does it is related to the version of Android Studio you are using?

  • Share plugin examples are very clear for image files but the same approach seems not to work for a "simple" txt file.

Does anyone know how to share a txt file as an attachment?

  • The fingerprint you are mentioning should be related to the Google Cloud API & Services credentials.

From the Google Play Console, select Play Game Services-->Setup and management-->Configuration

Here you will need to create the OAuth Client for your app

The console will move you to the Google Cloud API & Service to create the necessary credential.

Hope the following screen shots will help you a bit:

  • Just to give an update in case someone else got this issue.

I opened a ticket with Google Play and after ten days during which the ticket has been escalated internally, the issue disappeared.

At the moment I didn't receive a confirmation from Google but in case you face a similar problem I recommend you contact Google Play support.

  • I have a string of data in a text object (Log_Text) and I would like to share the string of this text object as a "file.txt" file and let the user send this file using email or any other app able to send files. This should work on a mobile scenario.

Here is an example of the code I used but it doesn't work because it doesn't include the file:

Can anybody help me with this?

    thanks a lot.
