That's why I said I'm not talking about this topic. I edited my post to answer your questions the best way I could.

For number 2 they can make it like buildbox thats the ultimate easy to use game maker but the price is too much. I never seen games made as fast as buildbox games.

For number 4 that will be a huge factor because the price has been upgraded so the feature set must include more ways to monetize your games.

For number 3 I just hope they get it right haha.

  • On Monday we'll get the next update. Hopefully the Community will calm down by that time and can think more clearly. I'm not saying I don't understand why so many of you are upset, but ranting in topics won't bring us forward (I'm not talking about anyone, or about this topic, but in general). Polite, well thought suggestions could and I'm sure Scirra is more keen to think about those posts.

  • To keep this thread clean please only reply if you have an answer to the question.

  • Ok we know the price and we know that it will be Chrome based. We know it will have a new editor. Ok so some questions moving forward Tom Ashley

    1) Will the new games made with C3 run faster or the same?

    2) Will the new events system make game making easier?

    3) Will there be new events added to the new editor?

    4) Will there be monetization models featured so that people can monetize their games? For example will there be plugin ins for different AD networks for Android , IOS, and PC? Not just one but a variety of options prebuilt into C3 ?

All these questions are important if you charge more we need more proffessional features like the ones I am asking about.

  • Tom

Ok so we can run C3 with no browser at all just as a desktop app?

I ask because now you said its an option which means you don't need Chrome at all. If so you need to clarify that with the community in your main post because thats why there is an uproar.

  • Am I right in saying your initial concern was that a new update to Chrome could stop Construct 3 working?

So your saying there will be no breaking C3 no matter what Chrome does, just turn the wifi off and it run offline. And if this is the case then why do we need to run it in Chrome since it can work without it?

  • ""Oh come on that's just being silly - whilst C3 relies on the Chrome browser, Scirra are not responsible for it.""

You lost me when you said C3 developers are not responsible if C3 breaks because of Chrome. That's exactly what Tom and Ashley would say. Thats the new future excuse when something goes wrong with C3. Thank you for your time.

  • [quote:2610de1c]That still doesn't answer the question if Chrome breaks C3 , will we be about to run it desktop. Saying that it would never happen is very unrealistic.

Chrome release "Canary" versions of the browser which are ahead of public release. Construct 3 can be tested on those branches to ensure there are no breaking changes.

Chrome updates will not be coming out the blue.

Ok but that doesn't answer the question if Chrome breaks it can we run it on the computer or wait for your fix? Will you pay us if the fix takes us longer than a week or month?

  • Ok thanks for the answers but I have questions about 4 and 8.

    4) That still doesn't answer the question if Chrome breaks C3 , will we be able to run it desktop. Saying that it would never happen is very unrealistic. Especially how much trouble Construct 2 had with 3rd party developers I don't think mysteriously its going to be fixing itself.

    8) That's not enough they need a showcase section that is current and a proper marketing channel. There is no game that blew up because of Construct tweets. The marketing channel needs an huge overhaul. Games are making it because the developer did it we need more help.

  • This forum is a mess right now because you gave us mainly info on how to pay and what is the payment model without telling us any real features like

    Tom Ashley kytric

    1) How will plugins be installed since Google took away plugin control?

    2) Will C3 have exporters ?

    3) If C3 does not have exporters will the old exporters work?

    4) If Chrome breaks C3 will we be able to run it without Chrome?

    5) Will game performance be faster on all devices or the same ?

    6) Are there any new features besides running on all devices or is that it?

    7) Is this just an editor update or will you have ways to make games even easier?

    8) Will you finally make a publishing channel to help with marketing games or no?

These are just basic questions that should be answered right away so you don't have people arguing left and right here. You caused an even bigger mess with your announcements. I almost feel it would have been beter to say nothing at all. This forum became a warzone aka World War 3 in here because of the lack of information. Your causing people to drink that swore off drinking for 20 years to start back .

  • Yeah it's okay, the plugins in C3 will be installed in the "page" rather than the Chrome browser itself (I imagine some sort of drag-and-drop, or maybe even a copy paste or Asset Store like Unity has )

I really hope your right because I don't think it will be that easy but I hope it is. The problem is Construct developers really messed up by not telling us specific info on how C3 will work. All they did was share way for us to pay for it and not give us any real info on features.

So now we are left to figure out stuff by overselves. Poor job on C3 developers with info sharing. They have us all going nuts trying to sort stuff out.

Irbis One of the most excellent post I have seen on Construct 2. Here is a little hope if you develop for mobile I made this

That's what keeps me coming here!!!

  • Ok so basically this is good news for us right? I am asking because since C3 is browser based its not going to use plugins the same way that C2 used them. In C2 you put plugins in the folder but with C3 its seems we have to install plugins on the browser itself.

    Article says this

"Starting with Chrome 57, that option is no longer available. This means essentially that Chrome users won't be able to disable -- some -- plugins anymore, or even list the plugins that are installed in the web browser."

  • Google has removed plugin controls for Chrome. So how are we going to use 3rd party plugins with Construct 3??? Read this article detailing a week ago Google's controversial decision.

    https://www.ghacks.net/2017/01/29/googl ... om-chrome/

So what is the solution to this ? Many people are complaining about this not just for C3 but regular Chrome users as well.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads

More than happy to lock this if the aggression gets any worse.

Please try to be patient and civil when making posts.

    Thanks.

Ok go ahead and lock it. You sent in your fanboys to take aim at me and derail the thread because I just posted facts that Construct developers don't want in the open. Then mysteriously you show up threatening to lock the thread? Go ahead and lock it I am tired of this B.S. I already knew you were coming once I saw Newt its the same pattern. You are Newt haha what a pathetic joke.
