    It's waiting mode....again

    Cocoon is still in beta and you can't use all features, yet.

    You can't use all plugins, there's a problem with cranberry plugins, but it's to be fixed. You can use C2 plugin from Ludei, but there are only ads and IAP so far. Than webGL, black screen and some other minor problems.

    When all those bugs are gone, it'll be great and I'll migrate from Intel XDK to Cocoon, because performance and app size is great. Hopefully, major ones will be eliminated within this month.

    Where are you testing your game? Did you compile a developer app?

    I recieved an email with errors when compiling first time, it's like 5 pages long!!!

    All pointed to the cranberry plugins, so I removed them. Than it successfully compiled, but I couldn't run it = after cocoon logo black screen appeared and stayed, music was playing, just no graphics.

    I run Eclipse to see errors, but catlog was again 5+ full pages.

    Compiled dev app and run it = finally it showed something readable - "window.cordova not found" error.

    Removed all ATP plugins, IAP & ads, from C2 file and from cloud as suggested

    => It works, yay. There is still that "Not found getElementById: c2canvasdiv" warning, but I remember it was also in the old compiler.

    Works, but can't use any plugin.

    Please, make work IAP, Ads, Achievements&Leaderboards and I'm happy man

    I have black screen too, don't know what to do.

    The error I'm getting is for the 'Phonegap Game' plugin, by cranberry games. Specifically:

    "Error installing plugin: com.cranberrygame.phonegap.plugin.game@"

    I'm having the same error, had to remove all cranberry plugins. Now it compiles, but there's the problem with the black screen.

    Ye, I remember the battle I had with it when trying to include it into my game.....

    I've solved it by using separate buttons for each leaderboard. That would mean 3 buttons in your case, not perfect, but it's working.

    I'm getting tired of fighting the performance and I'll look at those plugins. I was staying away from Unity because I don't want to learn something new from scratch again, but that plugin looks like it could make the transition easy. How long it took you to port it from C2 into the Unity?

    I asked about the Chartboost SDK version, because I had to drop it from my game. It causes the app to crash when displaying an ad and when user don't close the ad with the X symbol, but with the device's back button. Check this, you might be using old SDK version.

    Pity, in C2 I can't do anything about it, only wait for the plugin developer to update it.

  • Good game. I'm just missing button to check leaderboards. As it's now, I can check my score only after playing a game. It could be on the start screen or in the options menu with achievements.

    Did you make it in Unity? What Chartboost SDK version are you using? The game looks and plays nice, but it's hard for me - my best is 15pts.

  • I used chartboost for 2 weeks. Generated around 120k impressions (in analytics) and only 20k impressions in chartboost ads. So their fillrate is absolute shit. Also, because they only advertise on a CPI basis (cost per install) you get zero money if people don't install the apps promoted. And people WILL NOT install the apps promoted because they are the same ads over and over again. And the games promoted are all very large in size, 200mb+, so LESS people will install them. The CTR on the interstitials themselves is VERY high, around 11% CTR. However, install rate is very low, less than 0.1%. And you only make money on installs.

    Did you play with settings in the Chartboost backend? Like set minimum CPC/CPI, target or block certain countries/apps?

    I also tried their "rewarded video" program. I generated only 2k completed video views... made $23. The cost per completed video view is around $0.01. The player has to watch an entire unskippable video... and then you get a shitty $0.01. Completely not worth it.

    That's $11.5 eCPM, I don't think it's bad. What's the length of videos? I've read Chartboost video ads have low fillrate, what was yours? I'll try backfill with Vungle if it's too low.

    Hopefully cranberrygame will make the Appodeal plugin soon, than we wouldn't need to worry about fillrate, backfill and bloat app size with 3+ ad plugins.

  • Because even with so low ecpm, it's still better than other networks. I've tried charboost (worst network ever), adcolony, revmob, addbuddiz.

    Ha, I was just about to change from AdMob to Chartboost. I like that AdMob has high fill rate, but other ad providers have nicer interstitials, games only and AdMob lags for a split second when making request for an ad (haven't tested others).

    For how long have you been using other networks? I've read it should be over a week with 100k+ impressions to see comperable results.

  • I have used admob for the past 5 months. Made 800k AD impressions out of which I made $320. That's 0.4ecpm.

    That's really low , why do you stick with AdMob?
