  • Thanks, I'll check next time I come over.

  • [quote:1haw37v9]What bug is it you get?

Construct goes into a loop, stuck at 99% cpu usage.

Shall I upload a cap to the tracker?

  • Question is how many behaviors can you add to a object?

Then how many of the same behaviors can you add?

Yes I know your probably thinking "why would you need multiple behaviors of the same type?".

Answer is you don't have that much control on a few behaviors.

For example if you want to use the sine behavior, you have to set up an additional sine if you want to change some of the settings like height, or angle, then alternate either activated or unactivated.

So there's defiantly some extra settings needed there.

But aside from that I'm definitely getting a bug when I add more than 4 behaviors, with 3 of them being the sine behavior.

I'll add a post to the tracker if needed, but I wanted to ask first if there is any set amount I should know about.

  • wut?

  • Sounds like an object to me.

  • Aww its not the size of your sprite....

  • Honestly I think this is going to be a problem for quite some time. Here's a few reasons why:

    1. Most everybody assumes that directx is automatically updated because its Windows.

    2. Most people assume that just because they installed directx with some other game that their version is up to date, or a least good enough. "Hey I run WOW on this machine, so it must be the right version".

    3. Yeah the big red x, and the annoying Windows error sound will put off most people.

So a couple options are to either a: make a way to have games be backwards compatible to other versions, or b: like deadeye said have a quaint little notice that wont scare them away.

Something with rainbows, and unicorns, and a nice big font with lots of hearts and smiley faces.

  • They just added this condition to families, why don't you try that?

Just add all the different objects to the same family.

  • Yeah just add an additional condition like:

    on mouse button down

    every x miliseconds

    spawn object bullet.

Just make sure its all in the same event.

  • You might check a few tuts on adding bones to 3d models, and you might open up some existing animations. I think the hardest part right now is getting creases like in elbows, and knees, but I suppose for that you could simply add another animation.

  • Looks cool, one little bug tho.

On the first turn I sometimes get a bug that misses it and keeps going about 4 tiles.

  • I would simply make each sprite have the turret behavior, as well as the rts movement behavior.

You can then add each to a family, then when you have them move have them move with a for each saying

for each family move to x,y + private variable

    >add x to private variable

Any way Im not a 100% sure, but thats a good place to start experimenting.

  • You read words from left to right, and top to the bottom right?

The program does this as well, try setting the range of the turret behavior.

In other words it scans the layout from top to bottom, and if an object is in range, and it comes to it first it selects it.

  • Legal age in the Uk is what 16?

  • There's some z order actions at the end of the list.
