  • I have released my new game Pitboy Adventure on the Playstore today.

An easy single tap platformer. You control Pitboy's jump while he auto runs. Guide him to the exit portal to beat the level and try to get all the coins.

the game has 45 levels in 3 different zones, with some challenging levels to beat.

Please check it out if you can. I'm open to constructive feedback.

  • Hi All.

Can anybody please confirm if CrosswalkPlayer.8.37.189.2 is still the latest player or is there a newer one. To me this seems to be the latest, but let me ask as this version has not been updated in ages. Thanks .

  • Works better for me. My game runs better and does not lag anymore when displaying Admob banner ads. Cannot get full-screen ads to work though.

Removed and added it again as was suggested. Fixed it for me. Working now

Also tested Adbuddiz. That's also working.

  • Congratulations and good job.

  • sometimes when an ad first loads there can be a hiccup.. it's usually only the first time.

you must build and test on a real phone to see ads appear. there is no test mode that i know of that works with the cocoon io / cordova plugins it supports.

Ok, thanks for the info. Will just have to be careful. Don't want to get my Admob account banned because of testing with live ads

  • Hi All

I've been reading up on cocoon.io in the forums. Decided to compile one of my games to give it a test. I was surprised by how well it runs under cocoon.io. I have two questions pls. Does the performance stay the same when displaying ads? I was unable to test this, but I know in XDK crosswalk your game slows when using ads. and question two - can you deploy your app with ads in test mode to make sure ads are working as they should?

  • I'm experiencing the exact same issue. Did you manage to get this fixed?

Never mind. Installed wrong architecture on my tab. The s4 uses arm and the tab 3 uses x86. Installing Arm on the x86 caused that error.

  • > dcadjust, Thank you for your try to install the Android version. This is the first crash report I received for the game, it was tested successfully on many android phones and tablets but I'm not sure about tab3. However from the tab3 specs I checked it looks the game shouldn't have a problem to run.

    Hello.

The tab is on android 4.2.2

When launching the game it comes up wih a black screen then crashes. No error codes or messages. I installed it again. Sitll no luck. Sory

Installed it on my s4 with android 5. Works fine there. Great production values. I can pick up sfx in your games that I have in some of mine

  • Tried the android version on my tab 3. It crashes on startup

  • Not sure, but I also make android games with click team fusion 2.5 developer. There is no latency when I use that app on the same devices.

Android sound latency has been like that for as long as I have been part of this community, there has been some talk about it on the forums but I don't think it will change any time soon. For now I've just learned to live with it.

  • Hello Alejocazu

Yes, there is that sound latency on android devices. Currently there is no way around it. I have found, for me at least, that the more powerful the device the lower the latency

on my TAB 2 there is a massive latency and on my S6 very little while my TAB 3 and S4 have the same 200-300ms latency you are referring to.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I get this too when trying to preview any game in Crosswalk Player. Works fine in Chrome on my pc Win 7 x64. (R213)

If I remove the audio object the preview runs fine in CP.

    Hi WildRooster

I am going to give it a bash first. By the end of the project if I still feel I need help I'll splash out some cash to get the main character redesigned, but I'll keep you in mind. I see there are quite a few talented artist here on the forums.

    Thanks

  • Hi, Sam.

Well there is nothing bad in using someone else's style.

Just look at the Terraria that used Final Fantasy's IV-VI.

You can begin to repaint other games sprites and with a time you will add your own things into it

and just someday - you won't need anyone's help at all.

That's how artist learns to draw. Practice, practice and practice!

    Godspeed!

True words spoken. I suppose I can keep on practicing.

The game will not be done for several months, maybe by then my pixel skills have evolved enough and I can look at redoing the main character. If I still struggle by then I can always get help from someone with more skill
