    After watching how indie world lives for a coup years I decided to make a humble contribution, a metal album devoted to 5 very awesome games - Aquaria, Braid, Overgrowth, Super Meat Boy and Machinarium. But as many other people I need some support so I put up a project on http://www.indiegogo.com/Ultra-Pack for funding. Of course there will be not only those 5 tracks, some bonus tracks and extra content will also be included Well, hello there! so if you like the idea, welcome to my project!   • It's very interesting to hear how do you use XAudio2 object in your game or if you don't use it how do you work with sound generally, which formats do you use for audio files, do you experience bugs , if yes, then what kind of bugs is that, in short, everything?

    I started this topic because of one silly bug - white screen on game start, I'm sure it has to do with sound. My audio card is Audigy 2 and video card is NVidia GS8400, PC is Dual core Athlon X64(2.81 Ghz each), DDR2 2 GB RAM.

    I used XAudio2 for my demo, marked it as Global, made sounds load into each channel per layout(24 sounds t o24 channels, all of them are oggs) and then encountered that bug(white screen). After 20 seconds of hard thoughts I decided to load some sounds not per layout but in certain layouts and leave the main sounds(walking, punch, death, etc.) per layout(6 sounds). From that moment the game works fine for me but sometimes people tell me there's still white screen on their computers (that happened 2 times already). Strange but their pc's are quite good.

  • Glad to hear that! Oh btw could you people tell me if there' anyone else who gets white screen in game? And could you tell me your system specs(audio and video cards too)?

  • Thanks guys ! Yeah I really want to implement advanced martial arts and a gun after the first enemy plus some hints in game. Caspis, your pc seems to be good enough, I think I've lost sense of optimizing with my Athlon Duo 2.8 Ghz and Audigy2 sound card. Guys I think I'll make step sounds lower, planning to rework the gfx a bit, you know, add some detail, plot and gameplay tricks cause the game is pretty boring for yet I think.

    Btw could someone tell me how to make multiply bone structured enemies because when I try to add more than one guard they react all the same, I mean, when I hit one guard, another guard plays animation damage as well, or when one dies, another one dies too but their life count is different so that causes a lot of bugs too?

  • Damn, seems like this bug was caused by sound channels, I load 5-8 files into channels per layout. Btw what are your pc specs?

    Here's my first game, first indie game in North Ossetia, it's about an ancient instrument with magical powers, you're the one who must retrieve it from the hands of evil!

  • I've also tested some behaviours and plugins today - platform movement and plasma give the same error.

    EDIT: new renderer? Devs were talking about that once.
