Yeah, I can do that, I guess I was trying to avoid all the extra work since from the video he was able to generate a code to do it but I could not get it to work with my set up. But I do understand what you're saying so it's the best option for my code set up.

    Thank you very much.

  • Looks like I spoke to soon... After getting deeper into the code and removing the things I did not need it started to get crazy and not working correctly. So I created my own based off the general idea of the video. Now I have one side randomly putting out the coins good loot and bad loot. But here's what I want to do. I just want 1 command that randomly chooses the loot type and randomly sends it to one of the spawn spots (The Yellow Blocks) and in groups of 3 or 5 something like that. Kind of like the other picture above.

I guess I can do each spawn block separately and stagger the create time but that still won't let me generate them in groups. I hate asking for so much help but I appreciate it just the same.

    Thanks

  • fm4fanAT - You were so right! That is a great tut and I learned a lot. It was not quite what I wanted to do because he had so many things going on that I didn't need it was hard to follow and leave them out but I made it work. And there are so many elements in it that I will pull from for future set ups so again I wanted to thank you and it was your help that got me closer to what I'm trying to do.

    I'm having fun now Thanks

  • fm4fanAT - Thank you so much I'm all over it... I just wanted pointed the right direction and you've done that thank you.

  • fm4fanAT - I am so sorry I was at work trying to post with my phone and the site is not very mobile friendly.

Here is a clip from my game. If you can see as he moves up and down I want coins to generate so he can move up and down to get them. It's an infinite scroller so I'm not sure how to implement that. But sometimes the row of coins mad have a bad cone in them so you would have to grab as many coins as you can and avoiding any pitfalls/obstacles that may come.

Very sorry for my confusion thank you very much.

  • How do I generate loot pick up for infinite running style game. I want them in a group of 5 as I'm running I can pick them up. Like Mario bro. But every now and the have one in the row that can hurt you.

I know there is probably as simple way and I'm just not thinking if out.

    Thank you in advance.

  • BigFrank Thank you, I'm still learning and growing. Much appreciated.

  • blackhornet The results are in... I finally finished drawing and animating my character and with implementing the help you gave me everything seems to be working fine...

I appreciate your help and hopefully I can get a little farther before the next snag.

    Thanks again my friend...

  • blackhornet Wow!!!! Looking good so far I had to add a tweak but (AS USUAL) you did an amazing job. I have 2 more animations to add so let's hope I don't break it this time.

I learned something new today. That input thing was key. I figured there had to be something but I just didn't have the knowledge but I thank you for yours.

    Much appreciated.

  • blackhornet you are always one of the first to reach out and help me and I just wanted to say I appreciate that. I moved it around everywhere and it still does the same thing. I tried everything I could think of and it either keeps running in place, stops and slide with no animation. I have to literally wait for it to stop running or Idle and then with nothing else pressed but the down arrow it will work.

But by that time you're hit because you ducked too slow....

    Thanks again

  • Ok people I've been at this for hours and I can't seem to figure it out so I'm humbly coming to the masters... For some reason with this set up it will not let an animation work correctly. Everything else so far is working fine except when I hit my down arrow to set the DUCKING animation it will only work if I am not holding any other key.

Whenever I'm using the left or right arrow (Run Left/RunRight) and I hit the down arrow to duck I have to completely let off the other arrows thin hit or it will just run in place until I let the down.

If I'm running and hit the up arrow (Jump) it works fine, he jumps, comes down and if I'm still holding the run arrow he keeps running (PERFECT!) but if I do that with the down arrow it either runs in place or just sits still until I let it go...

I need the duck animation to work the same as the Jump.

I'm not sure why one is working and not the other.

Thank you in advance for your help.

  • That's what helping each other can do. Helping one may in turn help many. Thank you all for your continued support it is much appreciated.

We couldn't do it as well without you all.

  • YES, andreyin that worked.... blackhornet you are always there for me and I appreciate the help my friends.

I tried it that way before but must have done something wrong...

Ok now I can move on thank you so much...

  • My friends, I need your help. What I'm trying to accomplish is an Idle state and a DUCK state animation. The problem is because of the Idle the duck animation will not kick in.

Is there a way to do this?

All the other animation are working fine but because the Idle and the duck are active in a not moving state it will only do one (Which is the Idle)

Thank you in advance for your help you guys are the best.

  • Wow, I'm not sure how or why that fixed it, but Thank God it fixed it... Now I have to go back and fix all the stuff I messed up trying to figure it out

Even in a working version of the game that's how I had it. Every tut I've seen on PF said to do it that way so wow, I'm taken back by this.

I thank you with all my being, I do appreciate you taking the time because this was driving me nuts especially since it was working at first.

That's what makes this place so great...
