I made an addon (behavior) and a template that implement parallax backgrounds for side-scrolling games, it will work out of the box with your game.

I recommend getting the addon. You simply add the behavior to a TiledBackground object and it will scroll horizontally as you move through the layout. You can also configure it to make it scroll continuously. I made a detailed manual that explains these scenarios in detail.
