  • Thanks, I should make a webcomic about the characters from my C2 game.

This is an older work of mine that I'm just finishing, you can sort of see the similarity with these characters and those in the game I released using Construct 2.

  • I recently added a virtual thumbstick to the game, which exponentially increased it's playability from the old boolean dpad. I no longer recommend buying a gamepad to fully enjoy the game, this new control scheme is amazing and even better than any sort of controller. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy"> Glad I didn't just leave the game as it was, or it's full potential of fun wouldn't have been realized.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • How do I make a smooth touch d-pad? Like its a circle with a dot in the middle, so you move the dot around, and that will determine the directional input?

I wish I knew the proper name, but since I don't, I'm not getting the results that I want on google, as they end up going to physical joysticks, etc.

Reason being is that my game isn't playing well with the simple (right, left, up, down) buttons and would benefit more from a hold and drag type joystick since 8 way directional movement is support in the game. Its very cumbersome with four seperate directional buttons so many people have hard time moving diagonally.

Best example I can find is this:

    http://a2.mzstatic.com/us/r30/Purple/v4 ... 0x480.jpeg

Where its a circle object within another object, and depending on where it is in relation to the object its over, will affect the directional the player moves in.

    Thank you in advance.

  • Thank you! It's based off some characters I made. Here is a gallery with some concept sketches:

I used Premiere Pro to make the video, took like 2 hours. I wanted to make something more epic for the trailer though, but was short on time.

  • Interactive Thanks! I've been working on it since March, I was able to make something way better than my last game. The sprites are made from 3D models I worked on in Blender. The 2D illustrations I've hand drawn as you noticed.

I've been trying to release the android version for the past week now. The free version got rejected, and the premium version I sent out last night and even that got a rejection. What is going on? They tell me my game is similar to another, BUT don't specify who or what. I made these characters myself, there are none other like it. I even searched if another game shared the same title on google play, and none do.

  • I just got the rex kongregate plugin, but it only has reward ads and no option for interstitial ads.

Wouldn't it be possible to use the browser plugins "run javascript" command to be able to grab a kong insterstitial ad and display it at any point in the game(like at the end of a level)?

I don't care about the kreds or items, I just wanted to put in interstitials. IF the ad that appears on start up is the only ad, then how about using Browser plugins "Reload" command, to reload the game every 2 to 3 plays? Then that would cause the start up AD to display again, instead of just displaying once and the player plays indefinitely without seeing ads again afterwards.

  • I see, that is true. The ads though come out 50% of the time though. There is the option to buy the premium version, which would be a separate app.

Slightly unrelated, but When I was submitting my app, there was the option to wrap it in Googles new API that it does automatically. I said no thinking it might cause the already fragile-like stable game to crash.

But yeah, again, I see your point. : /

  • Is it a bad idea to make your google play game only playable if the person is logged in? Like they gotta log in to their GP account in order to be able to play, (as well as post to the leaderboard.)

This would ensure that they can't play the game unless connected to the internet, and thus they will see ads? Then they would have the option to buy the premium version/pay iAP to unlock full game, that has no ads, no login requirement, and can be played offline.

    Good idea? Too draconian??

I once released a premium game and it got pirated unto a foreign android site, for free.

  • I don't know if anybody tried this, but if you have your html5 game self hosted on your website, why not have your game only playable if the player purchases virtual quarters?? Like if they make a payment to your website linked to your paypal, so they get virtual "quarters" to play 1 session per quarter??

Like an arcade, but online. So that might be one way to make money through html5 instead of using ads????????

  • I see, so that is the current capability of C2 regarding Kongregate? I saw in a long thread on Kongrregate's new api that it was now possible to call interstitial ads any where in the video, although C2 doesn't support it and the only way is for somebody to make a plugin for it.

  • Awesome work on your space ship game.
