  • Hello!

I'm working on a PONG remake and I want the ball to spawn/respawn from the center of the screen every time. However, sometimes it will spawn directly vertical (only 90 degrees) or very close to that in which case it takes a long time for the ball to reach the paddle on either side of the screen. If anyone could tell me how I can set the ball to spawn within two very large increments on a 360 degree circle. To put this in other words, I don't want the ball to be able to spawn in a 40 degree increment on the top of the circle, nor on the bottom of the circle. Hopefully this makes sense. If not, I'll gladly try and clarify if anyone has any questions. Massive thanks!

  • Some day I'm going to have to repay you immensely for all the help you've given me. This worked and I can't thank you enough for your help. Massive thanks!

  • Hey all!

Working on a breakout-style game right now, and I can't seem to get the coding right for when the ball hits the paddle. I've followed Stemkoski's tutorial, but I just don't like the way the ball interacts with the paddle. If anyone has done this successfully in the past and is willing to offer help, I'll gladly take it! Thank you!

  • Oh my gosh. I actually can't thank you enough! But thank you anyways! Honestly, I really appreciate it.

  • Oh, sorry. Never done this before. Try this:

  • Hey, so I've been trying this formula out. I've actually tried it out on two separate .capx files and neither of them worked. Just trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong? In my case, however, I want the sliders to control music that has already started playing. I tried replicating the original .capx file exactly, and even by doing that it didn't work.

  • Thank you!

  • Hey all,

Just been messing around with some events in my game, and I'm just trying to figure out the easiest way to control audio in my game with a slider. I've been using one way, but I talked to a friend and he did it another way. I played his game it works incredibly. His way used a global variable and a function call. Not too sure what that means, so I was hoping someone would have an idea? thanks!

  • That's awesome. Thanks a bunch! I really appreciate your help!

  • Awesome, thank you! However, I'm still trying to figure out how to allow the frame to change back and forth between true and false by clicking on it, if that makes sense. Like when I click the sprite, it changes frames, but when I click again nothing happens. And then how would I apply this to making the game go to fullscreen and windowed mode? Thanks again!

  • Hello!

Currently, I am trying to make a checkbox control my fullscreen/windowed mode function in my game. I am trying to get the checkbox to go underneath the sprites I am using for the artwork of the checkbox, however when I send the box to the bottom layer, it's still visible on the top layer. Basically, I want the checkbox to be not visible on screen, but still able to be used. Is there any way of doing this easily? Or at all? Massive thanks to anyone who is able to help.
