  • Saw something weird when previewing and would like to know if it happens to you guys.

    So I have 3 objects on layout(1 is off screen) and preview is in "Inspect" tab. Black circle has 8-direction behavior. I move the circle around and the FPS drops to 50FPS with the black circle really laggy. I stop circle and after a few seconds it goes back to 60FPS but if I move it goes back to 50FPS.

    Next I click the "Profile" tab at bottom right. Now game runs silky smooth, black circle runs perfectly smooth with no lag and the FPS stays at 60FPs. What the heck?

    I'm curious if this is just a bug in the "Inspect" tab of the preview mode or what's going on. Thanks for reading.

  • Using Intel XDK and auto-signing the apk is usually the way to go. Intel is supposedly working on giving Intel XDK the ability to create the necessary files for you to upload to various app stores but I only here little squeaks here and there about this. I'm curious if it comes out before Construct 3. Within a year we will know for sure.

  • Darn, Intel just updated their XDK software and I see nothing about this. I'll have patience for the future.

  • Hard to know why it is disappearing without seeing your events but I'm sure it's a super simple fix. I recommend ctrl+F5 for debug mode and look for the disappearing object in the list on the left and then see if it's actually deleted or just out of the screen area, or hiding behind something etc. Once you have more info you can go to your event sheet and fix the problem.   • I really want to say that Flappy games are everywhere! they are viral! Why they are so popular game type?

    I asked this same question a good while back. These mini games bore me if I play for more than a few minutes because you dont really work towards anything but a higher score so I looked into why the heck they get so many installs. Basically lots of the players(but not all of course) that play these are looking for a quick fix to kill a few minutes of boredom in long lines, bus rides, few minutes of spare time and aren't really looking for a profound experience which I complexly understand and have been guilty of myself at times. For developers....they are super quick to make(meer hours for the basic ones) and if it catches on, you can make a killing. Flappy bird not only spread the cloning virus but also started the onslaught of mini games that are masochistic on purpose because the more you die, the more ads show up. Developers like https://play.google.com/store/apps/deve ... d=Ketchapp and https://play.google.com/store/apps/deve ... ps+Pty+Ltd come to mind. Mostly simple games and if you look closely...5-10 million installs on some of those apps. With the ads and in-apps going on...you can imagine why there are so many of these uploaded trying to be the next big thing. Hope I helped.

  • Check out the "Infinite Jumper" template inside Construct 2. It will give you an idea of how to go about it. You will basically replace a lot of y's with x's from that template so you scroll to the right instead of upwards. Good luck!

  • In actions for Fade I only see actions for "Finished" but is there a way to make an event for "On Fade Started"? Thanks.
