• I have boxes stacked up against each other. When the player is travelling at a high speed and collides with a box, I want the box to break (the player is a heavy metal ball).

I could do an animation manually (with an image editor and the built in animations tool), but this will look very weird in game. What I mean is, if the impact originates at the left of the box, and the animation is made for that way, it will be fine, but if the player collides at top of box, animation will look like it was collided with at left of box.

Is there like a particle/effect or behaviour I can use to have a "breaking" effect on the box when something collides with it?

  • Update:

If I click "OK" button on that error that pops up, the game still displays properly and I tested it and I was able to roll up and down the slopes perfectly

  • Wow, thanks so much cvp! I haven't been able to test the result after following these instructions though because for some reason I now keep getting an error when I Run the layout:

Do yoy know what causes that?

  • Thanks cvp - I have now uploaded the capx file. Could you please check it out?

  • When I add a slope sprite to my game and setup the behaviors for it, the ball doesn't roll up or down the slope, instead it just stops. It basically just rolls "into" the slope a little, then you have to jump and move right a bit. As you can see below:

    [/attachment:2bxxp551]

    [/attachment:2bxxp551]

How do I get the ball to roll up and down a slope?

    P.S.

For each slope object and part thereof, I have set "Physics" behaviour to it and Set "Immovable" to "Yes" and set "Collision mask" to "Use collision polygon" - I've also tried setting it to "Bounding Box" with no luck.

  • When the ball bounces (collides with a platform), it makes a bounce sound. But when the ball is rolling, I want it to play a continuous rolling sound that speeds up when the ball's speed increases and slows down when the ball's speed slows down.

How can I do this in Construct?

  • What the?! Oh my. I can't believe I didn't even think to check for updates. I just updated. Text is working just fine

  • Human Minesweeper? HA! Awesome.

  • Hello,

I am certain that I have found a bug. When I download .capx files from the web, or import Scirra's sample projects or even start a new project of my own that uses the Text object, the text never displays. Instead, a huge black box appears where the text should be.

I experience this issue in all the major browsers; IE (9 through to 11), Chrome, Firefox and Opera. I am running Windows 8.1 on a pretty awesome new PC. And I'm running Construct 2, Build 140.

I have used Steps recorder so that you can easily reproduce this issue, and this file is attached.

  • Hey this looks really fun

  • This game is cool. Would be awesome if there was sound and music. Would keep my attention for longer.

  • I will check this out when my Windows Phone comes back from repair. Looks good!
