  • Nice work. Looks like a nice game but remember that if you're trying to piggy back ride on the success of King games by using "Saga" in your title you take the risk of being sued by King if your game ever gets popular. They own the right to use the word "saga" in their games and have shown that they are willing to take legal actions against anyone who won't respect that.

So I would consider changing the name now so you don't have to worry about that later. I understand that you want to have saga in your title to get some "free downloads" but I wouldn't recommend it.

Just my advice. Keep up the good work.

  • Aphrodite Thank you for sharing Many useful tips there.

I will try PhoneGap for the first time on my next project.

  • Hi.

I believe that it would be nice to share our tips and tricks for exporting games for mobile devices and have it here all in one place. I have always used CocoonJS and have no idea how the other exporters/wrappers are performing at the moment. So it would be nice to hear how other developers do it and what works best for you when you export for iOS and Android.

So please share your workflow for iOS/Android and if you have any tips you would like to share, please do it here.

I will update this first post with the most valuable tips so people are able to find it easely.

  • Haha True

  • Not that sexy right now. But like I said, it will get smaller in the future. It will probably look more like this in a near future

  • Hehe, I'm not saying that people will wear them 24 hours a day and use them at a regular desk job. That might be in a distant future. I'm just saying that it will replace many ways of enjoying different kind of entertainment and this is in the near future for sure.

And for everyone who think this will not happen because it is bulky and big you have to understand that i will get smaller and wireless in the future. Probably more like regular glasses. It is still in early stages. And it might look big as it is right now but it doesn't feel big and heavy when you have them on. So give it some time and you'll see the VR devices will get smaller

I know that I sound like a total fanboy. But after seeing what you can do I really have no doubt. I use them for showcasing architecture in a 3D environment and it is groundbreaking how you can actually see if a room is big enough by walking inside it instead of looking at 3D-renders wich doesn't really show the true size of scale. But this will surely be used in the medical field and many other fields as well.

  • TheWyrm Have you ever tried the Oculus yourself? You can't compare it with a 3D tv or Google Glass because the VR is on a whole new level and everyone I've showed it to just loves it. Its so mindblowing when you can actually walk inside the game and you feel that you can pick up and touch everything you see.

As usual the porn industry will decide if it gets in to every home just as they did with the dvd. But it looks like they already decided to jump on the VR train according to the articles I've read.

And it can be used in so many ways. I watched the movie Gravity with my Oculus a few weeks ago and that was awesome on IMAX but holy Fu*k when I saw it in VR! I thought I was in space and it felt like you were floating around with the actors! No one will ever pay to go to the movies again when you can get 100 times the experience from your own home. With the VR you don't see any screen borders just total immersion.

I can guarantee that cinemas will be one of the first who have to change once this is commercial and every seat will have a VR device. The "regular screen" will just be used for indie movies and other small productions.

This is not my opinion its a fact

  • I see your point but if a game reaches the toplist and obviously is containing copyrighted material. Then its Google plays fault. They should detect those games and remove them. Not so difficult really.

  • I've started to get really tired of seeing games on Google Play toplists that are using copyrighted material in their games. On the toplist you'll find shitty games on top just because they use copyrighted materials. You'll find sponge bob, turtles, pokémon, spiderman and many more there and they all suck and would not have any downloads if they didn't use others names and art.

Why are these games not removed? I understand that its hard to catch all these games but it should be impossible for such games to reach the toplists. The developers of these games are thieves and should not be rewarded for it.

I'm starting to feel that the mobile development is a waste of time. If you actually make a really good game that has the potential of getting big many others will just copy it and a clone will problably end up being bigger than your original game

So if the app stores won't take action and protect the developers of original ideas the mobile market will die. No serious developer will waste time when the risk of getting clone raped is so god damn high They don't need to be so drastic but you should not be able to make clones of games trying to trick consumers to think the clone is the original game nor be allowed of using copyrighted names and materials.

  • I own an oculus rift and it is actually amazing for 2d games as well when you use it with depth. It is like 3DSx1000. So if used correctly you could make really awesome 2D games for the oculus. So don't think its only good for 3D

But how to implement it in C2 is another question

  • Heads up when you test your own games with ads. If you click your own ads even if it is by accident you'll get banned and you won't get any more ads delivered to your app. And believe me. That sucks

  • My Kim Jong Jetpack was accepted on the app store now even though I thought it would be rejected because of the theme. But it wasn't so that makes it my first official app on the app store ;D Actually it's not a clone, just a game with the same mechanics and it got almost 100 downloads in a day and I haven't even used a single word or anything to resemble it to swing copters and haven't mentioned it anywhere.

So that was pretty good for 3-4 hours of work <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz">
