  • I never said C3 must go opensource after those "5 years", only that it could go to normal license, provided that Scirra has moved on to new versions for main income, so to say?

It is normal for old versions (and there's newer versions) to get cheaper so this might be the way for subscription software that get old and replaced with newer versions, these could get new type of license..

But yeah, it is really up to Scirra this whole thing.

  • We can at least hope when in like 5 years they want to make Construct 4 or go on, they will change the license to become normal license so there's no risk of inability to run your files.. Of course providing you download your files to your own computer from cloud if it get closed down. (providing there's truth to the 100% offline standalone mode)

Sometimes I do like to open files I made back in early 90s to see them. Harder and harder to do so.

  • Maybe do this shaving part automatic?

    maybe add as option.

  • I would also like to see this. Copying/moving sections with events with variables never fun at all..

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads

So basically Construct style editor with Fusion runtime. hmm, that would be nice.

  • Unless they did some major change, no the browsers are all Safari but branded with other brands. So, Chrome, Opera, Firefox etc, are all Safari but with the "looks" of the other browsers.

  • I can see events being done on a phone. Looking through, fixing bugs.

But otherwise I think it is just a "bonus" feature really.

but now I can't do it anyway because of iOS-ness.

  • I dunno. I will see how the rest of the stuff are.

Yes. Rent, I know.. Grumble, grumble.

  • then I might consider go buy.

    What I mean:

Step code so you can see along it go. <- this!

Breakpoint ANYWHERE, also inside triggers. <- I know there's workaround, such as setting the game in Pause.

    Better debug overall.

The current version: more limiting. Upcoming version 3? I dunno. We have wait to see.

  • Exactly, CSS is very powerful. (I know after have worked with it) I do not worry about that one.

I know the CSS-side ability to add text/html that you feel is missing. I love that "hack". So you do not have to edit the actual html/php/whatever files but the CSS only, easier for update.

I just hope for it being able to shared so the people that are less fluent in CSS be able to adopt. And/or visual editor where you can easily change colors, fonts and sizes without having to know CSS. Similar it is now in Construct 2. just with extra option of going advanced mode.

  • Apple will hardly die. Too many use idevices. I have iphone and ipad. My guy have iphones and imacs. We have imac to tv too.

Many normal people like iphone because of its "idiot easy" to use. So to say.

Plus you can't deny the pull of branded image. (it is simply so....)

So Apple will definitely be there for a while more.

They do need to get their butts off to make better browser, that one I agree.
