An important thing to consider if you are going to publish your game in major markets.

You have to think about the following :

1 - Before having reviews and position in the rankings you need to have visibility into the store.

2 - The size of these stores and the amount of apps that are posted each day, make being in the New Zone has very short duration .

In short, the initial visibility in these stores is very short and therefore it is difficult to have a good initial pull of downloads .

An option to have some amazing results is to plan a protocol to try to access the "new and noteworthy " zones , " Favorite Team " or dream " featured app "

There is no exact science to get it. It's complicated, but it is possible by following a few steps:

    • As has been said before you need :
    • A good Web .
    • A package full press release and in different formats.
    • Social Media : Twitter , Facebook (at least)
    • Dissemination in specialized blogs

    Etc.

Now that all this work need to be seen by the publisher (eg Apple) . If they are not aware of this work will not be considered. Insists sending all new documentation referred to the review team.

Also, you should schedule a date for global launch market. If you want to fall in favor of Apple, believes that if you plan to release on June 15 , you can post to the exclusive June 10 will advance versions of OSX, iOS (iPhone , iPad) .

Think they value at least one month from the date you request the review to date of publication ( Time in which you show all those commercial activities ) .

Before sending the application to review , make sure there are no silly bugs and everything works correctly in the latest version of the operating system to publish (Eg. 10.9 Mac App Store , App Store 7 , etc. ..)

The icon and the name of the application are critical at this point, if you do not like to the review team , FORGET BE HIGHLIGHTED .

Therefore, if your game is good follow the steps above, you will be considered. If you are lucky you will be featured .

I can assure you that if you play this in a Featured area , multiply the initial shock x 100 - x 500 downloads.

Finally , when you go to publish the app , if you're going to follow these points and you need help , feel free to tell me. At least I will try to help.

    Regards.

    For dev:

-OSX Webkit Framework 10.6 to now (as Webview)

-IOS Webkit Framework 4.0.1 to now (as Webview)

  • First, you have to know "there is no engine in the market" allowing export App ready to use and publish on all platforms.

Always need specific resources in each market to create apps in their stores.

You can export in C2 for Windows 8 - 8.1. The result is a project almost pre- configured and pre-ready to go up to the store.

You can also export the project in HTML5 format. With XCode you create a project using the webkit and include your export created with C2. With some work you can uploading an App to Mac App Store.

Obviously you need to be registered as a developer of Microsoft and Apple and have minimum knowledge to access these markets.

You must consider that the main advantage C2 offers is not the final production in each of the markets. The main advantages ( for me) is the composition, WYSIWYG, scheduled routines and YOU SAVING TIME . If you value the total development time , C2 is your tool.

Again , once completed development will need certain knowledge and tools to carry on certain platforms , however it is available to everyone and not expensive .

    Now you must consider:

    • Platforms you want to port the game

    (some examples)

    • Windows 8 Market : Need PC with windows 8 - 8.1. Register as a developer
    • Mac App Store: Need Mac . Register as a developer
    • App Store: Need Mac or access PhoneGap or similar. Register as a developer.
    • Nintendo Wii U: Register as developer and advisable WiiU Dev Hardware Kit.

Think that 98 % of the work to be applied to create an app for each market is in internet tutorials ( many in Scirra ).

About the Speed ??and 60fps, you can get them without problems (

if the platform supports) as long as you respect certain rules. That happens in all engines.

  • After reviewing information on the Internet about the problems caused by the KB2883200 update, it is more than obvious that the problem is caused by the changes set to optimize the graphics performance.

This is a problem with different graphics chip and affects both PC and Tablets. So regardless of your test works well in your game, keep in mind that some users may be affected by the problem.

If a user of your games, tells you that has performance issues with Windows 8.1, be sure to uninstall the update everything will return to normal.

    regards

  • THX Danial.

The game is not overly complicated , but it is a kind of quick movements platforms . The problem is that the game needs some speed on the movement of the character. However it is not an exaggeration or need very high requirements .

As I wrote before the export in HTML5 and run in FIREFOX , worked perfectly. I am sincerely happy in performance as Windows 8.1 app after uninstalling the update. But I'm worried that whoever has this update installed will have problems . However hope that Microsoft fix the problem in an update.

I have written to support Scirra to see if analyzing the log of the update can be modified to fix something in Construct . Ultimately I understand that this problem affects all developers who use Contruct or other development platforms in HTML5 format.

In the coming days I would like to show some of my game , I have worked in about 2 and a half months and I'm starting to see the first results to be presented .

  • SOLVED.

After uninstalling many windows updates, I found the culprit.

    KB2883200

When I uninstall everything returns to normal. The problem as I said before, is that it's hard to be aware of them and if not, we will achieve is that the app may not work correctly that go up to the Windows Store.

Scirra team can review the log of the update and see if they can do something when exporting to Windows 8 and thus not rely on similar upgrades to ensure the functioning of the apps?

    Hope that helps someone.

  • I uninstalled the latest IE update (KB2898785), but the problem persists.

  • Well, this sounds terrible. If every time IE is updated, we lose all control of our products published.

Anyone else have a similar problem? There is no solution?

  • Sorry the problem is in Windows 8.1 with IE 11

  • Sorry my english is poor, im spanish.

Until yesterday, when running an application exported for windows 8 in Contruct and running with Visual Studio everything was going perfectly. Since yesterday all going to run very slowly, reaching even to not be controllable with the keyboard and blinking sprites occur.

This problem does not happen in Firefox.

Anyway, so I can not publish the apps because they are not playable.

It may be due to an upgrade of Windows 8?

    Something to do with IE?

    thanks in advance
